Conservatives aren't against those treatments existing, in general they are against it being forced to be provided via group insurance - like fertility treatments they should be paid through your own hard work or covered by an extra voluntary plan. The main reason insurance has become so expensive is because every year the treatment coverage list grows significantly.
People should be free to support whatever level of coverage they agree with in their insurance and should be able to pick and choose

Look at this investigation by a conservative who is fluent in Chinese. Job postings on the Wuhan clinic indicated that the strain was obtained from bats in Hunan and brought to the Wuhan lab. Not necessarily engineered, but collected then leaked. Then opportunistically covered up by China and WHO for two months because they didn't want to be the only ones suffering from it.
