Seems pretty odd to be having surgery...no matter how minimally invasive...while on chemo. Not a doc, but the anesthesia is usually the risky part.
RBG's stamina reminds me of my grandfather. He had black lung from working in the coal mines, but still rolled his own cigarettes (started doing that at the age of 10 and never stopped). He was diabetic, although was never overweight. He had 5 heart attacks that were all considered major and survived them all.
Died in his sleep quite peacefully at 92. They say he had a stroke, but his girlfriend, who was in bed next to him, never heard a thing.
I don't have neighbors now, but when I did, the guy across the street from me was a black doctor and his family. We used to have a lot of fun comparing firearms...before I lost all of mine in an unfortunate boating accident.
