I been saying this for years... The main failure of every system is in consolidation of power.
Doesn't matter what system it is. It all breaks the same way.
Communism? Consolidation of power in the state. Corporatism? Consolidation of power in the industry. (A.k.a. Capitalism gone wrong.)
Power always seeks to reinforce itself. Competition is the only thing that keeps it in check. Competition does not exist without lots of different, small groups of people supplying (& demanding).
Even our own government system is designed with checks & balances--Where the power of each branch is challenged & kept from monopolizing by competition from the other branches for authority.
Competition is at the heart of capitalism & what makes it work. Stop competing & innovating, stop encouraging small business & entrepeneurership, and capitalism is gone, along with all its protections against consolidation of power & it's abuses.
