Yep, almost the same story as me. Been doing it since last November and lost 40 lbs. Back below my high school weight. Blood sugars normal again and energy is back. Back pain, heartburn and dry skin is gone.
Shame I didn't find out about it years ago.
Good to hear the success you're having! From my experience, if you add more protein and good fats it's much more sustainable. The carbs (in any form) trigger an insulin response which is the motor for hunger not long after eating. Overall the weight loss is still CICO, but it's easier to maintain when the hunger is not as bad. The Cleveland clinic has a good video about it somewhere on YT (sorry, don't have a link).
My motivation for sticking with it is health related, so it may be easier in that sense for me.
