That makes sense. So the difficulty of DDoS attacks have got more complex overtime. In that case the key benefit of Cloudflare is they can probably identify rogue IP addresses much faster due to their size and serve up a captcha to try to reduce the problematic traffic. It certainly makes DDoS attacks harder by rate limiting abnormal refresh rates and other activity. T_D is holding up well so far.

For the database for sure. I'm talking static content though. A DDoS often it won't even get to the database layer, it will just be flooding SYN packets. My point was moreso the fact that it would be hard for TD to build their own Cloudflare especially when they already have all the other complexities they deal with.

For the larger DDoS attacks you'd struggle without Anycast as your ISP links could flood if you can't segregate the traffic out. For basic ones it's pretty easy dependent on the level.

Expensive and tricky is much the same unless the donations flood in. Granted it's much easier to work with a site like TD than Gab given how much dynamic content is on Gab.

Totally true. I'd imagine Parler wouldn't use a service like elastic beanstalk though. It's going to be a hard slog ahead to transfer it to a new provider but it's doable as Gab.com has shown. Much easier if you can go down to do it rather than doing it live.

It was a lack of foresight. They'll find someone else. OVH in Europe is probably fine. Otherwise there are bulletproof hosting providers but they cost a bit more.

Totally true, Gab was bootstrapped though. Parler wasn't. Cloudflare saves you a fortune in DNS lookups, DDoS mitigation and static content bandwidth.

The original live stream was on Facebook. It did link to it, not sure if it got reported or the actual dynamics. Not sure how you stop cases like that.

Agreed they have too much power but at least they acknowledge they have a lot of power and need to be careful with decision making.

They haven't with 4Chan or Gab yet. 8Chan literally had a terrorist inciting on it and FBI investigations.

Parler could use them but didn't at the start. They used Amazon's DNS. That would have given them some more time but staff probably knew they used Amazon anyway.

Yep, insanely slow. I think it's just too many signups these past few days.

It's not about domains, it's about DDOS protect and hiding the underlying domain name servers.

It's not a hosting platform. It's a reverse proxy service which has servers in order to operate.

That's not a cloudflare issue. It's likely a dynamic server issue. If you couldn't see the static content it may be a cloudflare issue.

Zuck has always been for free expression... sadly the Democrats and his own staff have kept indoctrinating him and changing the policy. A year ago he said even Holocaust denialism would be allowed even though it's completely ridiculous. He since reneged... you can clearly see he never wanted to be the arbiter of free speech but he has tried to push back and has since failed.

Dorsey on the other hand was born to be a cuck and never cared. All his answers are mostly lies.

Are there any Republicans in senate today or only Democrats in various forms?
