Makes sense, Trump has wide spread support more so then any DIM that was debating, they threw out a trash candidate (Hidin' Biden) in the hopes to fund raise to funnel money to congressional seats knowing full well they couldn't beat him in 2020. The biggest thing DIMS had in 2016 was GEOTUS didn't have a track record, he does now and its a popular one. Those who were on the fence before are not any longer.

I think this outage was self inflicted. its the fact that there are hundreds of thousands of people who use this site as their newsfeed. when earlier today they said 1:30pm every pede tried to visit to see the results and gave it a hug of death.

Its crap that he got charged, however i doubt he will be convicted. No police officer to my knowledge has ever been convicted of an errant bullet during a firefight. its not as if he went all Yosemite Sam when the shots were fired.

To be honest all the grand jury mean is that there is a possibility of conviction. The burden of proof is Far lower, changes are he probability of acquittal is high

Someone needs to tell that ginger fuck the last time the monarchy meddled in American affairs and governance, they got their countries ass kicked

This is exactly why i doubt the debate will happen. That senile old bastard gets all kinds of pissed off from one negative comment from random voters. Trump would have him frothing at the mouth screaming obscenities within 30 seconds.

One of these people need to take this shit to the supreme Court

Avatar 5 points ago +5 / -0

Its the fact that when you read what the case is about you can predict which way she was going to go with 100% accuracy and disregard any precedent to the contrary. nothing she wrote was groundbreaking. Its not that she made huge glaring errors per say, It was that almost every decision she made was very typical of a liberal judge.

The other reason she was bad, is the fact she was outspokenly political. The Supreme court is supposed to be non-partisan, a neutral arbiter to make a decision based on the merits of a case and its constitutionality, Instead she was political partisan who had no business mixing in politics like has had been her entire career.

And on a side note that bitch didnt even know how to use an oven.

In addition to that. This is his way of testing the political winds prior. By making this statement he can gauge the blowback before commitment. If it goes bad he can vote no and save face and if it goes well and he can use it later. He's only in this for himself

I wouldn't say they changed their view though, if the genesis verse is a metaphorical one and even St Thomas was teaching at conception, it seems like more of a refinement then a change

To be honest that is a grey area, The biblical quote that this comes from Genesis 2:7, that one receives a soul and becomes a human when one draws one's first breath. This is treated as a metaphorical sentence, as in when you first are created.

However St. Thomas Aquinas who was a major figure in the Catholic Church and its teachings believed that it was during conception. He is mis-attributed as believing it was later because of the understanding of conception during that age in which:

"The conception of the male finishes on the fortieth day and that of the woman on the ninetieth, as Aristotle says in the IX Book of the Animals" (Aquinas, Commentary on III Sentences 3:5:2).

It is important to note that the Great Schism of 1045 A.D separated the Orthodox Church from the Catholic church, in in such both claim to be the original church. It is worth noting that neither branch believes in abortion. And the stance of souls is in line with the Catholic faith, however i cannot find quotes from old heads of the faith such as a parallel to St. Aquinas to directly support this, this is based on current accepted teachings

that depends on the scholar and the work they cite. some say there is and some say there is not. heres a good example of yes they do:

*There will be three groups on the Day of Judgment: one of thoroughly righteous people, one of thoroughly wicked people and one of people in between. The first group will be immediately inscribed for everlasting life; the second group will be doomed in Genion [Hell], as it says, "And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life and some to reproaches and everlasting abhorrence" [Daniel 12:2], the third will go down to Genion and squeal and rise again, as it says, "And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried. They shall call on My name and I will answer them" [Zechariah 13:9]... [Babylonian Talmud, tractate Rosh Hashanah 16b-17a] *

in addition:

References to Gehinnom as a fiery place of judgment can be found in the apocalyptic literature of the Second Temple period. The embellished this idea, claiming that Gehinnom is 60 times hotter than earthly fire (Berakhot 57b).

The earliest reference to Gan Eden (the Garden of Eden) and Gehinnom as a pair is probably the rabbinic statement of the 1st century sage Yochanan ben Zakkai: “There are two paths before me, one leading to Gan Eden and the other to Gehinnom (Berakhot 28b).”

Not sure why you're getting down-voted. There isn't any religion pagan or otherwise has advocated for killing off unborn babies. Any attempt to do so is a perversion of the religion. Ive asked many pro-choice people who are "religious", this question and none has ever had an answer, "Where in your religious texts, does it say its ok to kill unborn babies?" Not one has ever had an answer. This is a sick twisted view masqueraded as a woman's fundamental right.
