He is a millionaire. Raised by a white family. Was given a ton of opportunities, worked hard, and was a starting QB in the NFL. We all know the rest with sitting during the national anthem and then kneeling. Okay, message was poorly enacted but sure, message received and we can start a dialogue.
To understand part of why people think he is a great QB is due to his stats and team getting to the SB. They neglect to mention his amazing team around him and NFL rules that heavily favor run first QBs. The rules have changed in the NFL to detrimentally effect run first QBs like him and Robert Griffin. After the rule change and team decline, the 49ers start to suck. Bad. As does Kaepernick.
Next phase. He opts out of his contract, going to the free market. The market for running QBs is down due to the rule change and his lack of throwing talent/reading defenses. The Ravens are in talks with him to replace their terrible QB Flacco. In the middle of their talks, Kaepernick’s BLM girlfriend calls the Raven’s owner a racist. Okay, so she killed the deal, Kaepernick was not blacklisted due to kneeling from the Ravens. Seattle offers Kaepernick a job. Since they have a hall of fame caliber QB in Russell Wilson, they can ONLY offer a $3 million Dollar contract. He declines. Again, he was not blacklisted from the NFL, he burned bridges and due to rule changes and his limited skillset, teams did not want to deal with his baggage.
Kaepernick cries foul for years. FINALLY gets a workout with several teams interested. He tries to power move and changes venue last second. Imagine doing that shit in a job interview to a potential employer. Again, his own fault.
Now, he gets his deal with Disney. Walt Disney was a known racist. So wait, why is he okay with working for a company founded by a racist? Doesn’t that go against his narrative? Can any lefty explain why he aligns with Nike and takes their money when they use virtually slave labor sweatshops? He is supposedly all about equality and systemic oppression being awful things. My family celebrated the 4th of July by grilling burgers, wings, eating watermelon, guac (Jeb!), etc. my sister who goes to a very liberal college did not participate.
