I’m somewhat sympathetic to boomers and the decades of corruption they were allowing, because of how information was communicated through the 20th century.

You figure it was mostly local newspapers (a couple National) who were primarily ‘small businesses’ for decades. Then suddenly later in the 20th century, larger companies started buying up local newspapers by the dozens and it wasn’t highly publicized or viewed to be a big deal.

Then you have the invention of the TV, everyone having a TV in their homes, daily local and National news that slowly became the 24 hour news cycle. Same as newspapers, you started with relatively local/privately owned production, then over time folks get bought and put under umbrellas. Again, mergers that weren’t highly publicized and the average Joe isn’t worried about the dangers of having only a few companies control the entire narrative.

News and information slowly devolved into controlled, widespread propaganda and you didn’t have alternative, easy-to-find sources for information like with the internet. It wasn’t as easy to connect with people across the country who were like-minded in politics, public government information wasn’t just a few clicks away, people didn’t have cell phones with built in HD cameras to catch every moment.

Information was much easier to control, and when information is easy to control, so are the people ingesting it.

That said, I truly can’t sympathize to the current younger generations. We have unprecedented amounts of information at our fingertips and there is little excuse to support the likes of Pelosi, Biden, Schumer, etc.
