No. Stock prices are 100% supply and demand for the stock itself. Has nothing to do with actual company performance.

Expected future earnings are one metric which affects the sentiment of traders and thereby influences demand for the stock.

I didn't tell anyone to go do anything. But, if you were, it would be best to take an organized but defensive posture and let the Feds cross the Rubicon first. They're certainly flirting with it already.

I'm just not interested in platitudes about violence not being the ultimate decider when one side becomes intransigent.

Violence or at least the threat of violence in the absence of a negotiated agreement is the only solution that has ever existed to any problem.

If not backed by the willingness to commit violence if an agreement is broken, theres no way to enforce anything ever.

When someone says, "That's wrong!", just translate that in your head to, "I don't like that." There are no moral facts. Merely opinions.

Building society is a process of negotiating our shared preferences about what is acceptable and not acceptable and using violence, or the threat thereof, to enforce a mutually agreed upon set of ground rules.
