Exactly. How could it be fought to end slavery if slave states such as Maryland were on the Union side. It was simply a violent rejection of a state's right to secede

Robin Williams couldn't stand Robin Williams either

He's a decent expert (as much as you can have an expert in something new where people are pulling things out of their asses). But he's just one viewpoint, it's up to policymakers to incorporate his take into an overall strategy

He's about as incompetent as Mao

It was one of the very last...banned forever because Kramer accidentally burned a Puerto Rican flag. Caused an uproar.

Of course, if it were an American flag it would have been labeled high art

Will they ban this episode the way they did the Puerto Rican Parade one?

Respect has roots in fear. It shows they have no fear of the right. And why would they, at it's core fear is based on the idea of physical violence or economic consequences

It's the lefty way. They rely on who says something, not what is said. For them it's all about credentials, which defines who the "experts" are, which in turn controls the correct position

They don't even need to. Kindle and Nooks will automatically update to remove offensive content. Collect paper or back up your digital books on local drives

I love this quotation by Napoleon. But can we please remember the context that he lost in the end, twice?

The left is using this tactic because it works. Attendance put Trump on the defensive right after inauguration too, not quite sure why anyone thought he would outdraw the first black president in Deep State Central

I think your heart's in the right place, but threatening mass purges will not help morale. It's the equivalent of suing to stop Bolton's book. It won't work and only makes people more likely to believe it

You know how this works. A policy is correct not because of its own merits, but because Trump adopts it. Whatever he does is viewed as the only right move. I'm not sure if everyone on this site believes that or only pretends to in order to avoid the ban hammer

One can be an ardent Trump supporter and still disagree with his course of action, and we should be able to say so without fear of being labeled a "concern troll." The key should be wanting to MAGA and rooting for GEOTUS to succeed

Anyway, weren't we bragging about 800k ticket requests a few days ago? It seems like we make it too easy for a counter-Narrative sometimes

I remember all the "analysis" about the Smithsonian clock. Ah, the good old days before the lockdown and a post-Aunt Jemima world

Tapatio is good, but Tabasco is by far the most versatile hot sauce. It can go in any number of foods with varying textures (eggs, soup, salad just to name a few)

Trying to shut down the book is a losing position, and only lends credence to its contents. It doesn't even sound like there's any actual sensitive info, just office gossip.

Next comes the Cholula lady! She is presented in traditional gender role--pure patriarchical violence.

Not to mention Cholula was the site of a massacre by the Conquistadores! And they also invaded Tabasco! We must REMOVE all references to historical events!

Thanks for sharing your experiences--unfortunately, I guess we won't solve the mysteries of the universe today! But welcome aboard, your search for truth and understanding will add a lot here.

It does.

Honestly, as I alluded I think it's like any fetish--you feed it, it takes hold. I have no idea what causes certain things to turn a person on, but I think that if you give into it it becomes stronger over time until a point of no return is reached. If a person is aroused by the same sex, and that is reinforced/encouraged, it makes sense that it becomes fused with your personality. I do think romantic love is necessarily based on sexual attraction, so naturally you would love a person who possesses those qualities.

I'm sure smarter people than me have written dissertations on this very subject--the problem is that it has become inherently politicized and, ergo, only 1 conclusion is acceptable.
