I agree the constitution gives the state legislatures the power to choose the Electors. But I think people are going to get confused by the term "faithless elector." In the past, a faithless elector has been someone pledged to vote for candidate A but then chose to vote for someone else instead (this happened for both Hillary and Trump in 2016). If the legislature chooses a new slate of Electors, and those Electors all vote the way the legislature wanted them to vote, then I wouldn't call them "faithless."
How sad is it that we have to fight for Voter ID and poll observers? I'm pretty sure even third-world democratic governments have these things, but not in the USA. Even when states offered ID cards for free, Democrats still threw a fit.
