Instead of giving health insurance to people, the govt. should just reduce taxes to give the money they would have spent on the health care, which they would have collected from people by taking taxes, back to the people. This is one and the same thing and the trademark of govt. - inefficiency and political bias would not come into picture if they do it this way. The people can use that money for their health insurance the way they see fit. The govt. doesn't get any blame for inefficient use of money and people get their healthcare. It is that simple.
Every single person who is living, is paying taxes via sales tax. The govt. should simply reduce or remove sales tax to implement the "universal" part of the universal health care.
