I hate to say it but I'm honestly glad my grandfather passed away before all of this took off. It would have absolutely destroyed him to see what has become of the country be fought for.

Honestly I would love to deport all my liberal neighbors.

Just make sure to find a good one! Every church I have passed in Boston is flying the pride flag and various BLM signs.

Afaik, it generally refers to select fire medium caliber rifles, as opposed to Assault Weapons, which are anything a Democrat believes is political feasible to ban.

The extra upside to that is that probably most people in the major cities rent rather than own. I'd be quite happy to see my vote taken by this measure if it meant my idiot neighbors stopped running the country into the ground. Bad enough they've turned once beautiful neighborhoods into hell holes, without them trying to do it to the whole country...

Gee I've been using these words wrong my whole life! I had no idea a banana republic was when political leaders were held accountable for their actions, while rule of law is when they can commit all the crimes they want with impunity.

It's amazing how we went from crusades to inviting them to build mosques on the sites where they massacred our people.

Much like with other Dem leaning groups, it depends how much they tow the line. I remember the left hating little Benji, and still do when he's not being a never Trump retard. He was supposed to give a speech at my University back when he was going around stirring up the schools, but massive protests calling him a white supremacists got him banned from the area. Probably would have gotten his head smashed in. Betsy DeVos had to have an entire police escort when she came, to protect her from the "tolerant" left.

I wish him luck, but my state is so far cucked that if John Adams and John Hancock came back to life, they would be run out of Boston for wrong think.

State level electoral colleges would help so many states, even ones that are solidly blue or purple would suddenly flip or become much closer overnight. In most places its basically a handful of cities ruining everything for everyone. I live in a big city (Boston), and its shocking just how much contempt most people have for anyone who isn't exactly like them. Wasn't always this bad, but then with three quarters of the population being recent college grads, what can I expect.

You're right, and my wording was frankly a bit callous. I get frustrated sometimes though coming across positions here or in RL that adopt the attitude that we will never need to do anything because if anyone tries to implement tyranny, the constitution will protect us. That's certainly true as long as we have a government willing to respect it, and courts willing to truly enforce it (which is sadly dubious nowadays). But plenty of other countries have had similarly strong constitutions by literally just copying ours, and still fell apart. The principles, I agree completely, will outlive the document. But whether those principles will remain implemented, ultimately, depends on our willingness to fight for it. Freedom won't defend itself.

The constitution, physically, is only a piece of paper. If tyranny comes to America, it isn't going to fly out of its case and shoot it down with a Freedom Beam or something. It enshrines the guiding principles of our nation, and crucially, provides a detailed set of instructions on how to implement those principles in a government that will not infringe the rights of its people. But it cannot enforce those principles.

Our rights are given by God, and enshrined in the constitution, but they are defended by men. The constitution will guarantee liberty as long as the country is mostly free, and the courts are willing to enforce it, and the other branches willing to listen to the courts. But should we hit the point of no return, it will not be the constitution that defends us, but we who must defend the constitution.

Does anybody have a link to the paper itself? I know some people who will immediately dismiss it coming from Tucker, but for whom the paper could be a good red pill.

What does permanent paid leave even mean? You just walk off the job and the government ensures you get paid for the rest of your life for doing nothing? I assume it's sick leave given the context, but even still, permanent makes it so easy to abuse...

Because the media has never used 'anonymous inside sources' to make up fake news about the President...

You'll notice that the article is sourced from senior officials who are of course not named.

It's the pendulum swinging too far the other way. This isn't the black death, like the media would have is believe, not even remotely close. But even with a 1% mortality rate, if 60 million get infected like happened with the swine flu, it's still 600,000 American deaths.

All the meat, bread, rice and beans have been out since Friday at all stores I've visited in RI.

It's a stupid feedback loop where idiots start to hoard supplies, then people who weren't worried start to to do the same so the panickers don't take everything first. The more people haord, the more others are forced to counter hoard, etc.

I expect supply chains will go back to normal after the initial stockpile but it's going to be an annoying week or two.

I believe the first doctors to discover it were noticing SARS like symptoms (SARS is a type of coronavirus) and started warning people that SARS seemed to be reemerging, and to take precautions. They were prompty arrested by the Chinese government for spreading 'harmful rumors'. And yet the media tells us our medical system should be more like China, where people who discover a potential outbreak are arrested in order to cover it up!

It's a big shame, honestly. I still live in Boston, and there's a lot that I love about this city. If it weren't filled with braindead liberals and illegals I'd probably stay.

To be fair, Republicans wouldn't pass his border wall or other policies he cared about. They may have been the same party, but it didn't mean be could get Paul Ryan or the Senate to do anything they didn't want. I wouldn't put failing to pass the suppressor law on him.

Bump stocks and the ATF are sole executive territory, though, and fall entirely on him.
