I don’t think the official vote happens until the new session. But the caucuses (Republican and Democrat) know beforehand who they are going to put forward. If it becomes clear Pelosi can’t get the 218 votes to win the floor vote they will select someone else to nominate.
Even with races not yet called it’s still a worthwhile exercise for the caucuses to meet. It gives Pelosi the lay of the land and figure out if theres any scenario where she gets 218 votes.
My guess is there’s a slim chance she can do enough horse-trading to get the votes, but she’s stuck between a rock and a hard place. The AOC wing of the party wants to go more progressive, but the “moderates” know it would kill the party. Good luck finding a unity candidate
I don’t necessarily agree. There’s a reason that Peter Strzok, an SES, went to interview Michael Flynn. They made sure to run everything through the equivalent of the C-suite and cut out any lower level employees that might have a conscience.
This is true. I was talking to my boss yesterday and it was the first time I saw him in the last few weeks (telework). He knew nothing about the Hunter and Natalie Biden stuff, and definitely didn’t know about Joe “introducing” his son Beau on Election Day when he pointed at Natalie
Good to know.
I’ll still never understand the NeverTrump mindset. I understand people like Bill Kristol and the Lincoln Project, because they’re grifters. But the average Republican, even if they hate Trump personally, has to recognize the good he’s done in the last 4 years.
To be fair, Decision Desk is run by one of the old posters from Ace Of Spades. As I recall, he did the Decision Desk as a side project before he decided to monetize it. Not sure where his leanings are now, but at one point he was on our side
Agreed on it going to Congress. If you can’t certify the results you can’t seat electors. That’s definitely where PA is headed. Possibly MI too considering the witness affidavits.
At that point we only need one of GA, AZ, NV, or WI for Biden to stay under 270. Besides AZ, where the remedy would be to recheck the ballots, all of those other states have evidence indicating the counting was irreversibly tainted. Let them vote again if they have the time and inclination, or let the legislatures choose the electors. Or just have them not send electors and let the whole thing go to Congress
Yup. The frozen counting tells you everything you need to know. They told everyone they had stopped counting (poll watchers went home) then they added an absurd amount of votes for Biden.
There was no time to make the numbers look right, which is why you had all those drops without a single Trump vote. A halfway competent operation would have thrown in a few Trump votes to make it look at least a little realistic.
They really expected Trump to roll over and take it. Maybe they expected the GOPe to step in and force Trump to concede. They didn’t learn their lesson the last four years, apparently.
Ahmaud Aubery and Rayshard Brooks. Aubery would have been Glynn County and Brooks would have been Fulton.
I’m beyond Voter ID at this point. I want Iraq-style purple fingers too. 100% in person voting with no absentees either.
I’m done with voting being “easier.” If you care about the direction of the country, get your ass in line and vote on Election Day. If not, fuck off
I don’t think so, as it goes against the spirit of the secret ballot. Which is why the only remedy to any of this is either a new election in those states or not seating the electors from those states and letting the House decide.
AZ will be fine when (if) they count the rest of the ballots. The Georgia fraud is going to be key though. Don’t need MI or WI if we have PA and GA. At that point we have until the midterms to root out the fraud in those two states
The top line being corrupt more than negates any of the good people in the rank and file. The best example will be when all of the AntiFa cases from places like Portland get dropped if Biden takes office. Those are rock solid cases that will be dropped for purely political reasons
Wasn’t that the main reason Microsoft switched to Chromium for Edge? I seem to recall reading something about Google adding invisible elements to YouTube (among other sites) which completely wiped out any speed advantage FireFox and the original Edge had.
I’m even willing to allow some kind of traveling balloting for people who physically can’t make it to the polls (nursing homes, etc) as long as it’s witnessed by someone from each party and any assistance given to fill out your ballot is also from one person of each party.
I’ll even give absentee ballots if you swear under penalty of perjury you will be outside the jurisdiction during the voting days. If for some reason plans change and you can vote in person, you sign another statement under penalty of perjury explaining yourself.
It was, but that shit was shut down by 2018. Which is why DeSantis won and not meth head Gillum. They got rid of Brenda Snipes and now no one even talks about Broward.
If (when) we win this, it’s time to start regulating voting at the federal level. Craft it like the Real ID Act so that, unless you follow these standards, your federal elected officials won’t be seated. At this point I’m ready for mandatory in-person voting with ID and purple fingers Iraq style.
Bill Clinton didn’t get a massive amount of votes. He wasn’t over 50% in 92 or 96 and won in 92 with 43% or so.
Not even being subtle about it at this point. Gotta mix in at least a few Trump votes (5-10) to make it look a little realistic.
Bullshit. If you want a majority to elect a candidate then do a runoff.
Goes to the House, which votes by state delegation.
Gore v Bush basically came down to ~500 votes in Florida. So not as close as that one
Pretty sure it’s by Congressional district
But Cunningham was up 6 in the polls, right?
So they’ve sided with the winning candidate every time. Nixon got fucked out of that election big time
The way I see it, the result we are looking for is to block certification of the votes. That either allows the Legislature to choose which slate of electors to send or quickly have a special election before the EC meets on December 14. Or they could send no electors at all (which I think is the most likely).
Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona, and Wisconsin all have Republican legislatures. Assuming Trump wins AZ in the end, PA and MI having no electors keeps both candidates under 270 and throws the election to the House, where we win.
That’s one of the reasons the NV lawsuits are (in my mind) fairly worthless. The Dems control the legislature there, and if the vote is thrown out the legislature will still probably send the Dem electors to vote.
