Same. My dad works at home depot and confirmed they have a company policy that does not allow their employees to ask customers to wear a mask. Some old hag civilian took it upon herself to yell at people who were walking in with no mask. When it was our turn to walk by her my pregnant wife yelled back that she has a medical condition. Made my day.
I just purchased "Strategic Relocation" by Joel M Skousen to help me navigate my move out of California. He has a few chapters on relocating to another nation. I'm not even going to consider that an option so I skipped over those chapters. From the little I did read Portugal had some nice qualities. I've been there on vacation and the people were very cool. But learning the language is a must so start practicing!

Ok, this sounds like solid advice. I am already game planning how I am going to exemplify that I am not a commie loving, needle spreading, sanctuary loving Californian. I don't expect to be accepted right away but I might have to bring back the high and tight, rock my Spaceforce T everywhere I go and proclaim MAGA all day everyday.
