This sort of happened to me once but I wasn't driving and the cops called me out to the street from a friend's porch. I had just opened a beer so I took it with me since they were investigating something that had nothing to do with me. When they asked me to pour it out I went to take one big swig before following their order. Before I could get the bottle to my mouth, they slammed me against the car and cuffed me. SFPD while Kamala was DA, no joke. Went to court for the open container and they were almost apologizing to me since I had such a minor record. I didn't even have to plea, they just dropped the charge, possibly becuase they were shocked someone showed up to court on the own accord.
