Just learn the facts about what happened and spin it in a positive light and I bet they accuse you of thinking the election was a fraud without you ever having to say the word fraud.

If the problems stem from political differences, stop talking politics. I had to do that with some family members. It's awkward at first but then gets easier to find other common things to talk about.
I you think it is beyond repair for other reasons then you may need to seek pro help.
If you think that just having sometime apart is what is needed, then do that and remember you can always send messages on birthday's, holidays, or just the occasional "Hey, hope everything is going well. I am doing fine. Love you."
It all depends on why the relationship is toxic. If this is an overtly abusive relationship then that is something totally different.

This has been a Color Revolution type act carried out by the DNC, CIA and China. Whether they knowingly cooperated or unkowningly used the others attacks against the Trump administration is irrelevant.
Step one: Foster distrust and sow confusion. That Steele Dossier was an attempt by the DNC to discredit the incoming Trump administration. This was bought and paid for by the DNC and the Obama administration's State department. This fed to the press in order to distract the public and paint Pres. Trump as dishonest and possibly compromised.
Who benefits from step one? The Obama administration gets cover for unmasking members of the incoming administration. This allows them to claim that allegations of spying are just an attempt by Trump to politically cover his own wrongdoing. Seems believable because it is all over the MSM. China, because in the confusion they can continue to steal tech and military secrets, while themselves spying and probing for weak points in the American system.
Step two: Create a Crisis Covid19 may have started by mistake but it was taken advantage of and used by both the DNC and China. When it first started happening, the Chinese response was done more to scare the outside world into believing this was the next big global pandemic. This would alllow other governments the ability to justify an abuse of power in the name of safety. No currently elected official wants to be the one that let the pandemic happen.
Who benefits: China and DNC China gets to further weaken an American administration that has been less than friendly to China. Once the lockdowns came the DNC saw the damage it did to the economy and the fear they could instill in the average american. They new that dragging down the economy was their best chance for victory in the election. It also gave them an excuse to change election rules in order to cause the mess we are in now, making it easier to cheat to a "win".
Step three: Alienate Law-enforcement officials. China, DNC and MSM are all at fault for allowing the narrative of Police Officers hunting black men. This sows racial distrust between ethnic minorities and law-enforcement agencies. This handicaps a police officers ability to effectively keep law and order. It also sows distrust among the different racial groups of a society. A useful side effect of this is the rise and emboldenment of far-left radical groups that can now hide behind the mantra for racial justice.
Who benefits: China and the DNC. China's main geopolitical threat is now struggling with internal civil strife and is weak from a lack of cohesion. DNC politically get to claim that the Trump administration has lost control of the situation and that "this is Trump's America".
Step four: Elections Mared in Chaos. With the mail in ballots and changes to the rules chaos was all but guaranteed. This would give the cover to cheat at steal the election.
Who benefits? DNC China DNC regains control of the government. China ousts an administration that is hostile toward them.
