Moana wrestles with her tribe’s past and the undeniable urge she has to make her tribe great again, by venturing out into he Pacific to restore the Heart of Te Fiti. The tribe is a bunch of CUCKS, including her dad, Chief of Motunui, who doesn't want her traveling the ocean, like their ancestors did.

Eventually she says "fuck it, what do I have to lose?" and fucking DOES IT. Her historically voyaging tribe thrives again.
