If Scruton was a leftist, he’d be hailed as one of the great intellectuals of the 20th century.

^ Excellent observation 😆

BTW at the time of the Robin Hood stories, the relatively new innovation of the Welsh Long Bow was seen as an “equalizer” that the royalty/establishment did NOT like seeing in the hands of the general population

Yes ^

He took BACK from the tax collector.

There was also a vague “well armed populace” angle in those Robin Hood stories somewhere ... if I remember correctly, at the time of those stories, the royalty/establishment was concerned about the general population having access to Welsh Longbows

I think the United States Corporation ceases to exist after today? So they’re just being coy with their wording.

Look up United States corporation vs United States constitutional republic ... they’re 2 different things. Someone here put up a good series of posts on the topic just a day or two ago.

If I were the over-thinking, conspiratorial type, I’d think that Grassley wasn’t misinformed— he accidentally said the quiet part out loud ... and his ‘clarification’ technically doesn’t change the premise that Pence might be compromised 🤔

Funny how Antifa shares a common cause with Walmart.

There are several good essays I'd recommend – about the Russian revolution and the sick psychological appeal of radicalism. these 3 mine similar territory but reinforce each other well - together they paint a damning portrait.

First, two great essays from Gary Saul Morson:

I became obsessed with this "Leninthink" essay; it goes deep and does an amazing job describing leftist psychology, its inherent violence and brutality, and why totalitarians are immune to reason and rationality.

This one is a little more readable ... you'll notice some disturbing parallels between then and now.

tl;dr: "Radicals never succeed without the complicity—active or passive—of moderate elites"

I’d been walking around the edge of the pool, dipping my toe in, testing the waters since Obama’s first term ... finally dove right into the deep end last spring/summer, with the BLM/Antifa riots and Covid BS

infuriating. That phone call, Trump did not come across as someone with the upper hand ... and the criminals are responding accordingly

Communism and Fascism ... just two competing forms of leftist totalitarianism. Some writer a while back described them as “mortal enemies, but their differences ultimately aren’t much more than Coke vs. Pepsi”

At first, I think “man, we’re screwed, we’ll never get through to these people”

But then, it occurs to me - most of these people are so high-strung, they’ll probably die from aneurysms as soon as they hear about Trump staying in office.
