Do you know 40k lore? I know some. I know the God-Emperor was a failure.

The Emperor did nothing when the Golden Age of man ended. He could have intervened in the human / machine war, and saved trillions of lives, but he waited for the dust to settle, so that his conquest would be easier.

The Emperor was a brutal dictator, purging entire worlds that would not bend their knee.

The Emperor created genetically engineered children to be his super-soldiers. Many of them turned against him, and one ended up killing him.

He told his Children not to use the psionic abilities he genetically engineered into them. Despite using these powers himself. Despite these abilities being the the only possible way to defend against the dark gods that live in the Warp. Yep. He genetically engineered a race of super-soldiers to have the psionic powers they'd need to defend humanity from evil alien gods that live in a plane of existence that overlaps ours.... and then told them not to use them. (Fortunately, they didn't listen).

His last act, before dying, was to commission the creation of the Demon Hunters. The Spanish Inquisition of the 40k universe. These are the fuckers that nuke heresy from orbit.

Dead but alive.... His body is kept alive by the daily sacrifice of psykers, and what's left of his soul is bound to it. If he were able to actually die, he would re-incarnate, and be able to fix all of the problems his death created, but he never will. Our healthcare system, which by the way, is the most expensive one in the world, was completely unprepared for this pandemic, despite it not being the first ever. The only part of this that is unprecedented is the country shutting down. The rest has happened before, and will happen again. If hospitals don't have masks, gloves, and ventilators, that is their fault.

I suppose it is the federal government's job to fix things when local and state authorities, and entire industries fuck up. Fine. How would you like Trump to fix this? Make some ventilators magically appear? Maybe you imagine there's a bunch of ventilators sitting in a warehouse somewhere, and Trump just needs to pay for them and distribute them? Well, thanks to the Dell model of supply chain management, shit don't work like that.

Of course no one is going to ask Trump for anything.... especially not left-tard officials. They're going to demand the impossible, and bitch about the results. Even some right-tard politicians will do it, because it covers their own fuckups. No one is asking Cuomo why he didn't have an emergency supply of ventilators, they're asking Trump why he won't give Cuomo ventilators. Congrats left-tards, you score one political point. Of course, anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together understands that the white house didn't need 2 billion latex gloves, 100 million masks, and 200 thousand ventilators..... the hospitals did, and they didn't have what they needed.

And of course, Trump could tell the truth.... He could say "there aren't enough ventilators, because our healthcare system didn't think we needed them, and they don't magically appear when we need them. You have to wait in line for what we are currently mass producing".... But you'll still blame him anyway, so why should Trump be polite when talking to the children in the press briefing room? You think this is going to be the president that meekly accepts blame for someone else's fuck up?

Got into a debate with one of my coworkers. An otherwise intelligent guy who speaks in talking-points when the subject of anything political comes up.

Is Trump doing too much, or too little? He's racist when he restricts travel with China, back when everyone said it wasn't necessary, but then he's not doing enough? He's racist again when he bans travel with Europe, and afterwards again he's not doing enough??

Then he hits me with the new narrative I'm seeing everywhere: "No one said trump was racist/xenophobic...."

I have to work with this fucker, so I had to hold in the SCREAM in my head.... "YOU!!!! YOU SAID HE WAS RACIST AND XENOPHOBIC!!!!! ALSO, DO YOU USE THE SAME FUCKING INTERNET AS I DO?
