One of the reasons a law like that is so fucking stupid, is that there is a huge difference between a nip/bite out of fear/pain, and a full on unprovoked attack/mauling that goes on for 5 seconds or more.

On the other hand, if they actively hunted it’s prey, and attacked them by biting, and not letting go, that’s a whole different ballgame. It was a continuous on going event. That’s an unprovoked mauling/attack, and that needs to be met with disposal IMHO. The only exception would be if an owner was being attacked, and the dog clamped on to protect the owner.
