They'll just dig deep into the super successful Hillary2016 playbook and try to distract from their candidate's lack of qualities. They'll field a neverending parade of surrogates and celebrities, give free concerts to draw people to his campaign events, etc.
"Look at Joe's overwhelming support, there's a massive crowd of 40k people here at his rally in Philadelphia! (The free Jay-Z and Beyoncé concert has nothing to do with it, they all came to see Joe!!!11)"
It's actually better for us if Biden doesnt clinch the nomination too soon. Bernie winning in Michigan would inject new life into his doomed campaign. The stronger Bernie is, the more the DNC has to cheat to steal the nomination from him, and the more the Bernie bros will riot and go after their own party.
From the point of view of team Trump, the worst outcome in Michigan is a decisive Biden win. In that case, the primary is effectively over and the Dems can rally around him instead of being at each other's throat.
NI will be the most dicey part of Brexit, so the US special envoy to this place is actually a more important position than a lot of people realize. This appointment is an honor, and Mick totally deserves it for his good service.
CoS is generally considered the toughest job in all of Washington in terms of working hours and stress level. It's perfectly normal for this position to rotate a lot. I think Mick was just exhausted by this meatgrinder of a job.
Not really, it's just natural for a disease to spread more quickly in dense urban places.
I agree with your other point though, the more perfect the administration handles this epidemy, the better for Nov! The coronavirus is bringing the issue of healthcare to the forefront, and it's the Democrats' strongest topic. The sooner it's gone, the better from an electoral pov.
They tried really hard to find someone better. That's why it took a man with his credentials this awfully long to clear the field. The DNC literally waited until the last minute, until Comrade Bernie was really threatening to run away with the race, before they settled on Biden and circled the wagons around him.
They were hoping that one of the other moderates corporate Democrats might gain traction, but nope, lol! They had 3 full years to prepare for this moment, and this SAD field is all they could come up with.
The economic curve in such a situation is typically a 'V': a sharp downturn caused by interrupted supply chains, workers being sent home and consumption being delayed. The recovery is typically quick too because all the production, working hours and purchases will be caught up on.
The only risk I see for Trump or the country is the timeline: if the corona crisis persists for many months, the recovery might come too late for the election, and the narrative of an economic slowdown might be set, robbing GEOTUS of his strongest talking point. I'm thinking of a situation like what happened to HWBush in 92, when the recession was already over and the economy humming by election day, but the negative narrative still cost him reelection.
I dont, however, think that's gonna happen this time around, there's still so many months left - this 'crisis' will be over by the beginning of fall.
In their mind, getting us off Reddit meant succesfully silencing us. That was their real goal, and .win makes it impossible. They're losing even more control, and they're butthurt af about it.
