this needs to be higher

half the time you don't even deploy as the unit you're 'in', but under some other unit. well, idk about half, but it does happen

I wish there was a good mid-range. Pixel 3/4 w/ graphene is probably the closest, but no hardware switches. But is also more readily available

"He didn't want to comply with a generic health and safety search and started shooting. He was killed by the police in self-defense. Tom was insane and probably a right-wing terrorist. Who knew?"

Can I impeach my manager? I'll give it the same due process trump got. Also like to impeach my clothes dryer, it sucks.

I think I've seen the word impeach too many times the last few days.

Yeah, they do have the advantage of massive oceanfront, great weather, and sheer land mass

As somebody who hasn't closely followed Cali's storied monetary issues, ie

Cali: "Red states take more money and wouldn't survive without us!"
Red States: "Cali is at a $54 bn deficit!"

Is there a good writeup someone could recommend for further reading? Or comparison between the two sides?

Would be greatly appreciated

she's a senator (or didn't she step down just now) - what's the process for them?

Conversely, by the dictionary definition, most politicians, a good portion of their supporters, and a fuck-load of people in general are terrorists.

We should pass a patriotic act to combat terrorism!

the left depends on us being "the law and order party". that way, they can let us have our 'protests', where we leave on time and abide by curfews, and all they have to do is wait inside for a few hours, watch netflix, then pass whatever they were gonna pass anyway. Or, remove some minor detail from an infringing detail, giving us a 'win'. Or, spin the peaceful protest as violent if even one person does something even remotely bad.

It's turning into a no-win situation.

Lawful protest = nothing accomplished (possibly negative outcomes)
Unlawful protest = nothing accomplished (probably negative outcomes)

Short of drastic measures, I feel like I have zero recourse against any terrible/infringing policy/laws. Amendments don't matter cause they just pass and do PATRIOT act shit, and the courts don't care.

So it seems like there are 2 options:

  1. Never protest, cause it could be a psy-op from the get-go, or have embedded bad actors to give the left the narrative
  2. Full protest (occupation) that can't end until specific, certain goals are met

Don't do violence cause that what ANTIFA does / that's playing directly into the narrative the left wants!

and

We cannot stand for this! (being declared terrorists, etc)!

are closing in on being completely conflicting statements

The problem is also the narrative

"Police approached a man's house peacefully and requested a discussion about whether he owned any illegal assault weapons. He then proceeded to open fire and was killed by police in self defense."

Or something like that, even if there's video evidence otherwise, which would certainly be repressed by any mainstream media.

A lot of people would realize the lie, but the lie would probably spread just enough to keep anything from boiling over

So, is it technically 10% or 1/10th? I know for dec- they are the same in this context, but then would:

  • Pentimation - reduction by 5% or by 1/5th?
  • Dodecimation - reduction by 12% or by 1/12th?

I'm not a language expert, just a pedant with just enough info to harm myself lol

You can leave at any time for any reason, they can fire you at any time for any reason. That's pretty much how it rolls in my state, unless you have some specific contract otherwise. I think that policy is fine - freedom of association, and the employee could have requested a contract with specifics at the time of hire - it just sucks that its come this far that people are being terminated over this.

why does that say 'Progressive' in the description

lol

Voting is a non violent

I mean the act of casting a vote by filling in a circle isn't violent, but the majority of voters are voting for others to use violence on their behalf. There is violence behind the vote.

Is there a good source/summary to read up on this (assange awol), or good terms to search? I wasn't exactly plugged into the info at the time

Blinker-Aerospace7 5 points ago +5 / -0

Why we still don't have massive exodus from twitter, fb, et al is beyond me. Just stop using it. There's nothing there. Or move to literally anything not owned by them and at least make them compete somewhat. Idk.

Blinker-Aerospace7 3 points ago +3 / -0

Idk why this is such a thing. Why bother resigning early when you don't have to? I wouldn't.

I also don't know what 'status' they enter if they resign early. Do they resign from the senate and immediately become an employee of a transition team or something? Or are they a straight 'unemployed' 'civilian' (used loosely just to mean not-gov't employee)?

What incentive would they have to resign early?

You could set up and recognize a new 'capitol' in a new location...

4
Blinker-Aerospace7 4 points ago +4 / -0

This is why I've always had low confidence of things outside my general sphere (like almost literally things I can see or hear in my general area and the areas of people I know well)

Like sure, things on the other side of my state are probably similar to here, and reports from there are probably generally correct barring some (potentially large) outliers. But how can you really know. You can't. You can see some potentially doctored or misleading but true evidence that could also instead be true and correct. Idk. Just more arguments for small government.

A bit tinfoil-hatty, but hopefully the general gist comes across

Blinker-Aerospace7 4 points ago +4 / -0

Perhaps. Silver lining: State legislatures have been spurred to implement election reform.

Counterpoint: What if the left "gives" us full voter ID everywhere, but still fucks with votes via machines, adjudicating, etc, but gets to claim "see, we even did voter ID, totally legit elections!"
