While I know most people aren’t thinking this deeply into it, I really couldn’t stand all the popular “Fuck 2020” branding/sentiment around New Years this year.

2020 didn’t suck because of natural disasters or things beyond human control - what “fuck 2020” implies to me, as it’s stated en masse (sure, your 2020 could have sucked individually due to a death in the family or something, that’s different).

2020 sucked due to actions taken by some people on purpose. People who are still in positions of power, who the masses are still listening to, and who are going to continue their bullshit until forced to stop (hopefully, maybe sooner). 2020 wasn’t an accident. It was on purpose. If you’re saying “fuck 2020” because you’re tired of the bullshit, stop blaming some ephemeral year and blame the people who are forcing their bullshit on you, and also a bit yourself for allowing it to happen (victim blaming, but also the price of freedom is eternal vigilance, as much as it sucks and is unfair).

Preaching to the choir, I know, this isn’t really aimed at y’all, just needed to rant for a sec. Thats all.

Here’s to a better 2021, hopefully also due to actions taken on purpose by those in positions to effect positive change and patriots willing to stand up to the bullshit!
