From our CEO:

Like many of you, I am watching in distress the events in our nation’s capitol today. The foundation of democracy is the compact that we will elect our leaders via peaceful votes and resolve our disputes through dialog and the even handed application of the law.

I try to stay out of the divisiveness of politics. But what we are seeing today is beyond the pale and is no longer politics. The chaos unfolding in the nation’s capital is the result of unlawful efforts to overturn the legitimate results of a democratic election.

When we refuse to accept peaceful elections to determine our path forward, we risk sliding into a world where disagreement is resolved through brute force. That is not a world any of us should want to live in and as a country we deserve better.

If there is a bright light on the horizon, I do believe that today’s incidents have pushed many people who have been undermining the election to see that things have gone too far.

I believe the best approach for all of us at this point is to simply stay home and let the government work through the transition and give law enforcement officials the space to manage the public safety situation. We should encourage our families and our friends to de-escalate. It is time for us all to move on, and to move on quietly and peacefully.

I sincerely hope that this dark moment will be the turning point where we can all step back and commit to a world where we can agreeably disagree.

I hope you and your families are safe and secure. I can’t wait to get both the pandemic and this dark political moment behind us. I believe the best way to get through both is for us to all stay home, stay calm, and express love and understanding and resist the urge to angrily engage.
