Lastly, the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine is about to end with the opening of NordStream2. Something the US are frantic to stop as it ends any chance Germany and the EU will buy higher priced US gas and moves the EU into a closer relationship with Russia.

And NordStream 2 will also be the end of Ukraine theft of the gas and their ongoing failure to pay for the gas they legally receive. Which is why Ukraine is willing to be used to label Russia an aggressor.

The US wants to force the EU to agree that Russia is super bad and stop NordStream 2, which would be the equivalent of cutting off your nose to spite your face especially for Germany which foolishly has stopped using much of its nuclear power.

Which is also why the US and a bunch of its NATO buds are harassing the Russian teams that are completing the last bit of undersea work on NordStream 2.
