Well one of the first rules of combat medic is to make sure the area is secure before going in. Nothing worse than a sniper maiming a guy to lure a medic out to kill him instead and remove one more life saver from the ranks, who may have fixed a warrior to fight again when healed.
Most elderly people are doing what we are doing except being more clean, some wear a mask, but most I interact with all day are just going about life normal and bitching about the riots, and people going after the elderly and the police.
Plus most old people are very aware of cognitive decline, they see it happen all around them, friends, family, spouse, and etc. They are around people their age, so they know when a friend starts to decline, so from alot of the overhead conversations they are aware of his.
