I've got a whole BULGING folder devoted to strictly Mrs Brown's Boys. I noticed the dilution/diminishing-returns process starting in about midway thru Season 2. All the 'let's get the gang back together, AGAIN' 'specials' didn't help either.
Why do otherwise-brilliant shows just all tend to run out of steam, and most of those ABRUPTLY? I.E., the process isn't death-by-degrees so much as everybody goes on vacation between seasons and are replaced by Special Ed grade-school kids as writers the following seasons.

This is an INSANELY sensitive subject in my family. I'm the youngest of 7, as never married (especially seeing ALL of my siblings crash'n'burn spectacularly on their marriages, some now on #3 Psycho) moved back to the hometown to caregive the last several years. I lost BOTH parents within 3 weeks of another to finish out the TOXIC 2020 (dad 11/24 at the nursing home and mom I found at home 12/17 - they each had a WHIFF of COVID so therefore the cause of death was 110% COVID - I have 20 years medical experience so call total bullshit on that but, in the interests of maintaining the peace, kept my mouth shut).
Mom insisted we have dad's service that Thanksgiving week, the day after and, with all the Chinese Plague hysterics firmly in place, it was general consensus (that is, me the LONE conservative against my The View equivalent hysterical siblings) that it be family ONLY - and by all rights it should have been a PACKED service (he ran the local grain elevator for nearly 60 years - EVERYBODY knew him). Now a sister who's retired to Panama, who was forced to miss dad's because of chinese plague travel restrictions, insist we wait til 7/30 to have mom's when she'll be back in The States. Okie-doke.
I had absolutely NO CHOICE under the current circumstances but to get this POISON injected into me (at my nearest VA, 75 miles away - dose #1 of 2, damn near KILLED me - felt like an MLB team used me for BATTING PRACTICE, crippling headache, chills like I've never experienced, bedridden for 2 days - all this for a 99.7% recovery rate illness?).
Unless you're from a HUGE family like mine you simply can't conceive how exhausting it is fighting them constantly, in addition to me, ALONE doing all of the estate bullshit as well. AND still trying to process the loss of my parents (dad lost BOTH his remaining siblings, mom lost a brother in law, then both parents died, all in the span of October to December - talk about STRESS).

Thanks for the warning - sometimes the remakes exceed the original(s) but that's rarely the case - case in point (to my critic's eyes anyway) is "Brothers", a Danish original starring the mighty Ulrich Thomsen I didn't particularly care for but the HollyWeird remake was far superior - it's ALWAYS the other way around, America always feeling the need to 'dumb it down' for the masses. No WONDER I've gone almost completely to 'foreign' fare. Watched a Danish one last night starring the mighty Madds Mikkelsen that was GENIUS - Riders Of Justice.

You, sir, are THE MAN. The ONLY Mrs Brown's Boys I'd ever seen was apparently the Scottish one (w/Brendan O'Carroll) - I honestly had NO IDEA it was a remake. I have seasons 1-3, all the 47 (I exaggerate for comic effect) christmas shows, the stage-shows. I was wondering if it just STOPPED after season 3 as have yet to find anymore - wasn't aware of the 'talk show' variety you speak of. Thanks for the education!!! It's sad that 99% of the 'current' stuff (by that I mean 20 years or so - all without FAIL follow the same pattern) rope the viewer in the first rock solid two seasons, then it's like all the original writers leave in a mass exodus and they limp along to a pathetic ignominious death. Sopranos was fantastic until it's last INSULTINGLY bad finale season. Homeland WAS great 1st two seasons, then APPALLING. I LOVED Being Human (the UK original) at first, then IT sucked. True Blood...Dexter. Law of diminishing returns. Do they get complacent thinking the loyal viewers will just stick with it? Insulting.

I've been trying to locate the FULL Till Death... series - ain't finding it - one site had season 2 and 4 and that's it - why bother uploading partial? Will keep searching. You might get a kick out of rarefilm.net - more FILM than series though. Some exceptionally, impressively obscure stuff there (requires a nitroflare paid account to d/l).
