I disagree that our state legislatures failed. I think this was all part of the plan. They were never in session until after the electoral college, and none of the governors called them into session, despite massive public pressure. That's why you had hearings at holiday inns and landscaping businesses.

When these legislatures come back, starting tomorrow, it will be interesting to see if there is any movement. That's our last real hope unless there's something at SCOTUS that leads them to delay the inauguration.

I agree that a military solution seems unreasonable. But it is interesting that the dems have been trying to intervene on the insurrection act and nuclear nancy's rant to secdef this past friday point to the fact that there may be fear on their side that trump may use it.

I also served and will throw in my 2 cents. An illegal order would be something akin to a lack or authority from the orderer or an overreach of the rules of engagement or standard military conventions. If you are ever asked to do something extreme, the secdef or secretary of state or their deputies intervene directly. The president has a direct line to the secdef at all times. Remember that he removed the secdef a week after the election - I imagine the acting secdef, a specops guy, is much more willing to execute trumps orders. I have no idea what the IA does or its limits, but if there is an impeachment but no trial - which it looks like will happen - he still has all of his authorities. I'm not sure if pence is the one who can invoke the 25th, but if the cabinet wants to do it, they technically can at any time, although it was written only to replace the president if he became a vegetable.

good point, I had forgotten that. It might have been a slip, but Trump has been great about not revealing his cards throughout his career. I'm honestly surprised how respectful he was toward raffensperger despite both parties knowing what happened and Georgia's unwillingness to do the right thing.

I agree with you. Trump has done everything cleanly, by the book, against opposition who doesn't play by the rules. He's lost every challenge he's made to the election through a rigged court system and nefarious state leaders. I'm hopeful that something will change. I hope it is not the insurrection act. But if that's what's required to assert legitimacy over an illegitimate election, then I hope it works.

Not a TFR. Just in the special regional section where you’d find tfrs.

There is. Check the TFRs at the bottom for the DC area and they say there’s no ATC for about 4 hrs.

I agree with your sentiment, but I'll just say as someone who has worked in the hedge fund world that you can be right on the idea and get the trade wrong. Please don't blow money you can't afford to lose.
