I still support the man, but I'm not holding my breath for the arrests. I don't quite get why the President is sending these tweets as if he is an outsider. He isn't an outsider. I honestly want a little more explanation about the lack of draining going on.

The picture makes me think this is fake, but the wording in the "headline" is exactly what I would expect from CNN. Is this fake fake news?

Neither I. I did notice his salute looked pretty sharp.

Wow. Never even thought about it like that. That's incredible.

He's so good he plays random... and tells his race.

Wow. I guess he was against it before he was for it... only in reverse. Why can't they just actually come out and put forth policies they are for instead of flip-flopping all the time based on what they perceive people's impressions are?

Democrats in general don't see the American people as responsible adults. That's been the basis of their policies for along time now.

Ok, let's go one by one.

No real evidence of the man

This is obviously wrong. Roman, Jewish and of course Christian historians have accounts for his existence. This isn't even denied by atheist scholars. We have more accounts for Jesus than we do of the Roman emperor, Tiberius, at the time.

the crucifixion

Same thing. In fact, atheist scholars, such as those in the Jesus seminar, say that the singular most certain thing in Jesus' life was his death by crucifixion.

the resurrection

His disciples were martyred and held to their account that Jesus was resurrected. Even according to the non-Christian Jesus seminar, the account of Jesus dying, and resurrecting and appearing to his disciples and then to more than 500, was being said within months of his death - NOT 60 years after his death.

"Teachings"

Jesus' teachings were obviously captured in the part of the Bible called the New Testament. We have very reliable transmissions of them. There is a field of study called textual criticism where we try to assert what the original manuscript actually said. Through the numerous surviving manuscripts, some even going back to the 1st-2nd century, we can determine with pretty good reliability what they were. The very few things we are uncertain of existing in the original manuscripts have nothing to do with Jesus' teachings or have any theological implications about his death, burial, resurrection and purpose.

I don't know what "IFB" is but God has put a new believer in my life recently and I am not opening up the firehose and telling them all these dos and don'ts, but rather discipling them.

And I find it a bit odd you're making these assumptions about me, now, after chiding me for a supposed assumption I made about you.

But I actually disagree that one can go on sinning all they want and they'd still be under grace. For someone to go on sinning all they want, implies they do not want grace or any part of God.

Dude, relax. If you read what I said, you'd see that I presumed you would tell them they cannot go on sinning and you'd quote Paul.

It is impossible to never sin again, you're right. But you still left out repentance. I imagine if a new believer were to ask you, "so I'm forgiven of all my sins, does that mean I can go about sinning freely?" You'd tell them "no" and quote Paul, "What then? Are we to sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!" Romans 6:15.

Do not leave out repentance.

While it is our belief or trust in Jesus and his work on the cross that saves us, we must still repent of our sin.

Zero evidence? For what? The man? His teachings? His crucifixion? His resurrection?

3
BreakfastGun 3 points ago +4 / -1

Let's see if that works:

Do you have faith your spouse will not cheat on you?

or

Do you have lie your spouse will not cheat on you?

I guess I'm going to have to rewatch the movie; its been a while.

Is it? I thought it was a good movie, but I don't remember any anti-progressive subtleties.

This is the first I'm hearing of this, and I do not know any other context of what he said to do this, but my first thought is, I don't think this is as bad as being portrayed here. Jesus washed his disciples feet. This is probably him trying to show the same servant attitude/mindset all Christians should have.

Now, if he comes out and and starts remembering the martyrs of the BLM terrorists, spouting the BLM lines, or especially raising his fist or similar things, I'll certainly have a different opinion.

I would like to watch the entirety of the video.
