I think they're misinterpreting the 6%. 6% had just covid on the death certificate. But if someone has respiratory failure and covid on the death certificate that shows up as two on death certificate, that would be in the 94%. However, the respiratory failure was a result of covid.

To get a stat like how they are using it, you'd need to find the number of plp who died only of respiratory related to covid with no other underlying conditions. I don't think that data set is available.
