RUSH: Treatment Update: I’m Confident That I’ll Get Extra Innings Jul 6, 2020

RUSH: Okay, time for an update on my condition, my circumstances, my treatment. I told you all from the very beginning that I did not want to be a cancer patient here on the radio. Now, those of you who’ve been through this or have had family members go through it, you know that it takes over your life if you let it. You know that it has deep-seated psychological impacts on everybody in your family, including the person who has come down with it.

It takes a yeoman’s effort to get past all that. It takes a lot of effort to try to live what used to be and what you try to make a normal life again. But there’s always that cloud hanging out over there. So rather than talk about blood draws and all of the medical specifics, what I thought I would do was use a sports analogy.

And since I used to work for the Kansas City Royals I understand baseball a bit, and baseball is probably the best sport to use to analogize where I am to date in my treatment for what is, for those of you who don’t know — there’s new people listening, tuning in every day — advanced stage lung cancer which was diagnosed back in January, on the 20th.

So leaning on my time with the Kansas City Royals, I thought the best way to update you and to inform you would be with a baseball analogy. It was in late January that we learned of the diagnosis. That means we learned of a really tough opponent. So, it was time to go up to bat, time to walk to the plate, bat in hand, and that is exactly what happened. And my first two at-bats were horrible. My first two at-bats struck out. Nothing to show for it.

The first two attempts to deal with the cancer failed. One was a targeted therapy of clinical trial drugs, which worked but nearly killed me in the process. And so we had to get off of those. But that at-bat showed me I could hit the pitch. I wasn’t gonna strike out. I was at least able to make contact. We had some hope that there would be a remedy.

The second at-bat was a total and complete failure. I struck out on three pitches. Did not even make contact. So I’m now up in the bottom of the ninth, I’m 0-for-2. I have not reached first base. I didn’t coax a walk out of anybody. I didn’t get a hit, much less a double or a triple. But on my third at-bat, the third attempt, I managed to get on base. I hit a solid single and then stole second.

I am currently on second base hoping to slide into third and eventually make it all the way home. We’re in the bottom of the ninth. If I get all the way home we get extra innings. And that’s what we’re shooting for here. Another reason why I chose baseball — football and basketball have a clock and they end. Baseball doesn’t. Baseball goes as long as the game is tied. Right now I am tied. I need to round the bases and score. I need, however it happens, I need to either steal third, I need to steal home. The guy hitting behind me needs to come up with something.

But that’s what we’re shooting for here is extra innings, and we want as many of them as we can get. Now, don’t be alarmed by my direct mention of the first two at-bats being total failures. Well, they were both total failures, but one of them held promise. The current treatment regimen — and, folks, it’s really tough because I know that you’ve known people or you’ve heard other people that are in media who are going through this illness or any other kind of illness. They’re so eager to share with you good news that they do. And sometimes they get premature sharing the good news, and it isn’t long before they have to come say, “Uh, uh, oh, we’ve lost ground or it’s come back” or what have you.

And so I am and vowed to be very guarded with the good news because we’re talking about cancer. There are good days, good weeks. There are bad days and bad weeks. This past period, this past treatment, which was a week ago tomorrow, this has been much better than I thought. I was expecting, because of the cumulative effect of the toxicity, I was expecting to be, you know, in that just debilitating fatigue for 10 days. And I wasn’t. It lasted two days, Thursday and Friday. The weekend was good. But, again, anything can change rapidly and on a dime. So, it’s a blessing.

I believe prayer works. I know it does. It is a blessing that in my third at-bat, the last shot that I had at this, I got on base and I stole second, and I’m chugging on to third, and I’m very confident that I’m gonna score. I’m very confident that this is gonna go into extra innings. Meaning — well, you know what it means. I’m trying to avoid being specific in the lingo here. And, again, that’s simply because of how rapidly things can change with this kind of diagnosis.

But I’m feeling extremely good right now, even cautious about saying that. Who knows what tomorrow’s gonna bring. Good days and bad days. But I told you I would share information with you, and I told you I would keep you abreast of it. And so that’s pretty much it. That’s the sum total of it. I mean, I could be even more optimistic if I wanted to because there is reason to be, but, again, when every phase and stage happens that’s an improvement, I’ll be sure and pass it on.

The bottom line is I’m entirely capable of being here today. My energy level is great. I’m doing extremely well. And I don’t think anybody would mind if I told you honestly that I am doing better at this stage than I thought I was gonna be doing. But, again, folks, I know these people who’ve gone through this, and they’re so eager to share good news and they do, and then the next day, in some cases, or the next week they have to pull it all back because that’s how rapidly things can change.

But sitting here right now, I can tell you that the attitude I have is, and the way I’m feeling physically, is much better than I thought I would be, particularly after the first two strikeouts. I mean, they were total failures, total strikeouts. And one of those times at bat was what we thought was the promise, one of those times at bat was where we thought the genuine, long-term answer was.

And when that didn’t work, it was, “Oh, no.” So the alternative has come through. It’s doing well. Translation: I’m responding very well to the treatment. My body overall is responding very well to the treatment that I’m getting, and, you know, again, psychologically, I don’t know what role psychology plays in recovery. There are people that would tell you a positive mental attitude counts for something, counts for a lot. Some would say it counts for nothing. Well, I’m an optimist anyway, so I don’t have to work at being optimistic.

But the psychological pall that accompanies this, and particularly for people in your family, it is as tough on them as it is on the, quote, unquote, patient. And they are to be applauded for the courage that they exhibit dealing with it. It’s just incredible, the support that I have and patience that people have with me. Because, if I lose control, I start blaming myself. I blame myself for ruining people’s lives here. And I’ll tell ’em that, and I apologize for it. And they say, “Nobody deserves to get what you got. You can’t blame yourself for this.”

The support that I’ve had, particularly from my wife, is just, as I’ve told you, impossible to characterize. So that’s the update. The upshot of it is I’ve rounded second base, I’m pushing for extra innings. I gotta score. I gotta get around to home plate to tie the game and to extend the game for as many extra innings as I can. And it looks like, sitting here today, that it may happen.

RUSH TRANSCRIPT:

The Left’s Angry, Stupid Marxist Counterrevolutionaries

Jul 7, 2020

RUSH: You know, folks, what really stands out to me, what’s remarkable about the circumstances in which we find ourselves with this counterrevolution going on with the American left and the myriad associations of Black Lives Matter — and, you know, Black Lives Matter, it’s not a mystery what that group is. It’s a Marxist, communist political apparatus. It is not a civil rights organization. And they will tell you that. All you gotta do is Google it. They’ll proudly identify who they are. And yet they’ve got everybody running scared of them as though they are a civil rights organization.

What strikes me is the relative ignorance and stupidity of the people running this counterrevolution trying to destroy this country. They literally are ignorant. They’ve been mal-educated, ill-educated, and, to a certain degree, they have to be stupid as well. And yet look how they have cowed everybody. I know they’ve done it with the threat of violence, not just the threat of violence. They’re actually committing violent acts. They are committing mayhem, sometimes with guns.

So I understand that that can make even the stupidest and most ignorant people appear to be threatening. But, as I said yesterday, ladies and gentlemen, the thing about this is even if these people get everything they want, whatever it is, including a brand-new country, if they succeed in transforming the United States of America, if they succeed in erasing and eliminating the founding and replacing it with whatever, they’re not gonna be happy. They’re not going to be satisfied.

Whatever they think the result will be, it isn’t going to cause them happiness, contentment, and that realization is going to shock them to their core even more. And this is their status even now. They’ve gotten a lot of what they’ve been demanding since the 1960s, and none of it makes them happy. Have you seen a happy leftist? Have you seen a happy counterrevolutionary? Have you seen a happy revolutionary? Have you seen a happy left-wing Democrat? They aren’t. They’re not capable of it. Their mind-set 24/7 is anger and rage, depression, sadness, what have you.

They come up with all of these reasons to explain their depression and their sadness and their anger. They set out to fix them, and nothing solves the problem. In the meantime they’re on the verge of destroying the greatest country that’s ever been envisioned and created and founded, all because people are afraid of them. You want to know how ridiculous this is, let me read to you a headline.

This is from the U.K. Guardian, but it could appear in any American paper. Are you ready for this? This probably, El Snerdbo, is going to excite you. Are you ready for the headline? “‘Upward-Thrusting Buildings Ejaculating Into The Sky’ – Do Cities Have To Be So Sexist?” A serious story. It’s a serious story claiming a serious problem, that a bunch of white supremacists have built phallic representations of themselves. “Upward-Thrusting Buildings Ejaculating Into The Sky.”

They’re writing books now. The story in the U.K. Guardian. Here’s the lead. “Glass ceilings and phallic towers. Mean streets and dark alleys. Road names and statues of men. From the physical to the metaphorical, the city is filled with reminders of masculine power. And yet we rarely talk of the urban landscape as an active participant in gender inequality.”

Do you realize how empty your life has to be if you’re walking around a city and you see a skyline and think ejaculating buildings and sexism?

“City planners, architects and politicians can make a difference, if the will is there. In the Aspern district of Vienna, all of the streets and public spaces are named after women.” See, we can do it right if we think about it. “In Tokyo, trains have carriages set aside at particular times for women, disabled people, children and [others]. In Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, female street vendors have seen their safety and economic prospects improve with the building of secure, permanent mini-markets that include space for breastfeeding. In Stockholm, snow plowing schedules prioritize residential streets, school zones, public transport and bike lanes. These interventions say to women: ‘Your contribution matters. Your safety matters. Your mobility matters.'”

They’re writing books, folks, about ejaculating buildings triggering women and making them feel unwelcome in the cities, a book titled Feminist City by Leslie Kern. Now, this is just absurd. And it’s one of these things, 25 years ago we’d be laughing about it if the story appeared then, and we would be saying, “Who in the world would ever sign on?” And now a whole bunch of people have signed on to it.

You know, people are having a tough time understanding how all of this happened and where it is going to end and how it is going to end. And I’m one of you on that matter.

Jason Whitlock Calls Out the NFL for Caving to Radicals Jul 7, 2020

RUSH: All right. Last night I was watching Tucker Carlson, who is apparently the Republican nominee for 2024. (interruption) What are you laughing at? I’m telling you I read that. It was a Politico story. Are you doubting Politico? (interruption) Politico is talking about how the GOP is all excited. (interruption) No. The theme of the story was the Republicans can only nominate media people now. There was Trump, The Apprentice, reality TV, and then now Tucker Carlson and so forth. (interruption) Is what, what it’s come to? (interruption) Well, no, I’m telling you somebody had to leak it.

You know, Chatsworth is killing it ratings-wise. And I’m telling you that somebody in the Republican Party is looking at it. “It might be just what we need.” And so they leak it, a trial balloon, you know how this stuff works. I mean, it may be you. You might actually have your name floated before 2024, it would be a trial balloon if it happens. And know who would do it? Nick Searcy. Nick Searcy would find a way to float your name as a potential 2024 nominee, as a trial balloon, just to see what would happen. It’s the way this stuff works.

Anyway, I was watching Tucker last night. He had Jason Whitlock on. Whitlock has been at the Kansas City Star. He’s been at ESPN. He’s now at a website called outkick.com. And I know Jason a little bit. You remember back in the days where I was a minority interest in an ownership group attempting to buy the St. Louis Rams? Well, at the time the Kansas City Star was employing Jason, and they assigned him the story of exploring my interest in this.

And I’ll never forget, he called me, we talked on the — no, we were emailing because I can’t use the phone easily. And he said, “I don’t believe you really want to buy that team. I think it’s a publicity stunt.”

I said, “You think I’m going through all of this for a publicity stunt?” I mean, Bryan Burwell, the late, may God bless his soul, were writing that I was longing for the return of slavery. I mean, these guys were making up quotes I had never said about slavery and about race and so forth. And I said, “You really think that I am enduring all of this character assassination on the basis that I need a publicity stunt?”

He said, “I do. I do. I don’t think you’re serious about this ownership group.” Well, the story never happened because after he said that I said, “Well, this premise is wrong.” It wasn’t a publicity stunt it all. At any rate, Whitlock has become renowned for his willingness to attack and properly, accurately analyze these race-based militant protest groups. He doesn’t pull any punches. He’s fearless about it, and he is one of few in the entire African-American population you can go to for the truth to be heard.

And last night he was magnificent on Tucker Carlson in a very short appearance at the end of the program. He was asked to address the idea here that the NFL has actually announced that they’re gonna play two national anthems before games in week 1, that they’re gonna play the black national anthem, and then after that, they’re gonna play the Star-Spangled Banner where everybody is gonna kneel. And he says, who in the world is this stupid? His point was, the NFL has just told us that they are not who we always thought they were. There is no leadership. There’s just a bunch of cowardice.

He said, I’m not just talking about Goodell. I’m talking about the owners. This is incredible. And he made the point that I just made to you, Black Lives Matter is not a racial group. It’s not a racial justice or injustice group. They are a Marxist political movement. And it doesn’t take any effort to learn this. Every NFL owner and Roger Goodell could simply go to Google, search Black Lives Matter, and find out that they have gone into business with a rabidly, pro-communist, Marxist political group.

And whether they know that or not, they instead choose to treat this bunch as a justified and legitimate civil rights organization, which they are not. So here are the two sound bites. First question from Tucker. “The NFL said it’s gonna play Lift Every Voice and Sing, the so-called black national anthem before all week 1 games. What do you think this is about, Jason? Is it a good idea, do you think?”

WHITLOCK: If the NFL starts out its season with everyone standing for Lift Every Voice and Sing, the black national anthem and then virtually everyone on the field take a knee when the Star-Spangled Banner plays, the NFL will run off a nice, fat chunk of its audience and will never be seen the same again because of the failure of leadership throughout the NFL.

There’s no way you can do any homework on Black Lives Matter and not see that it’s a Marxist political organization. This is a historic failure of men and leadership. This is cowardice at its highest level. This is the NFL jumping the shark and saying, “We’ve quit being who we said we are. We’re now something else because our money’s on the line.”

RUSH: Yeah. And money and fear. And I’ll tell you something. Let me expand on this a little bit. What is it to say the NFL is now jumping the shark and saying we’ve quit being who we are? You know, the NFL for the longest time was seen as a place where racial harmony existed and people watching the NFL could see this.

Teams are made up of whit e players and African-American players, a majority of them African-American. You had some other races thrown in, and teams, for all outward appearances appear to get along. We didn’t see what went on the locker room, but on the field they united in the quest for victory.

And it was a respite. You could go watch the NFL like you would any sport for a break from the humdrum of life or whatever, escape all of the rotgut. And the NFL was able to position itself as standing above whatever discord there was throughout society. The NFL almost was presenting itself as, see what’s possible? We have people and players of all races, and they get along, and they unite toward a single objective, and they appear to be supportive of each other.

And now the NFL has thrown that away. And they are going the exact opposite direction. And they are now taking sides with a pro-Marxist political group. And Whitlock went on to say that it’s mystifying to him because it’s just inexplicable. It’s stupid. It doesn’t make any business sense whatsoever because if what is thought to happen does happen, if they play the black national anthem, whatever it is, and follow it up with Star-Spangled Banner and the coaches and the players then take a knee, you can wave good-bye to whatever audience the NFL had.

And it isn’t gonna be replaced, even with people starved for sports because of COVID-19. Even if the NFL managed to pull this off and actually has a week 1 and they do this, they’re kissing their audience, they’re kissing their customers, they’re kissing the people that have supported ’em good-bye, on purpose, choosing sides and trying to make everybody think they’re doing so on the basis of racial justice and harmony, when they’re not. So the next bite, Tucker Carlson said to Whitlock, “Okay. The commissioner, they got a commissioner in the NFL. Where is he?”

WHITLOCK: Probably hiding under his desk. These guys don’t know what to do. I don’t want to just blame Roger Goodell and Troy Vincent. This is NFL ownership, all of them, cowards, not standing up for what they believe in. America has made them filthy rich and some of the most powerful people on the planet, and they’re unwilling to defend the values they built their business on and the country that has enriched them incredibly. Politically in the sports world, I’m looking at the men fall out of cowardice. It’s pervasive throughout this country.

RUSH: And again it’s noteworthy that Jason Whitlock is African-American and willing to say what he’s saying about Black Lives Matter. You don’t do that. I mean, you kowtow. Whatever Black Lives Matter wants to be, that’s what you say they are. And he’s making it plain as day that it doesn’t take any research at all to find out who this group is, that they’re not about social justice, they’re a Marxist-communist organization that is attempting to take over and ruin this country as founded.

And now they’re being aided and abetted by the NFL and the ownership group, which refuses to use the same values they built their businesses with in running the National Football League, all because Nike, a big sponsor and other sponsors are upset, threatening to pull money away. So no guardrails, nobody standing up, no morality, no virtue. It’s absent. And the NFL doesn’t know what’s headed its way if the Whitlock scenario actually happens here. ‘Cause everybody’s making a big mistake.

You know what the b ig mistake is? America is not Twitter. This country is not Twitter. But don’t tell the NFL that, because the NFL and practically everybody else believes that whatever the hell insanity is on Twitter is this country. And it isn’t.

TRANSCRIPT OF RUSH'S DIATRIBE ON TRUMP'S NIECES BOOK: Now, have you all heard that the niece of Donald Trump has a tell-all book coming? Okay. Name is Mary Trump, and she’s the daughter of one of Trump’s brothers. She’s got this tell-all book out there and the Trump family been trying to stop it. They have failed to stop it. There are advanced copies. It’s from Simon & Schuster. Simon & Schuster apparently has become the anti-Trump publisher, if you want to go anti-Trump, go to Simon & Schuster. And her book has been leaked now to CNN. CNN had a copy, and Little Brian Stelter actually put his hands on it and could barely contain himself. Barely contain himself. Audio sound bite number 21 on CNN, just moments ago, the question was, “Brian, you were just reporting on how, because of demand, the publishing date of Mary Trump’s book has been moved up.” 📷STELTER: That’s right. And that’s why these copies are starting to leak out. Here’s one of the many copies that’s already been shipped out to bookstores. This book is essentially an anti-Trump campaign book, Kate. From my initial read of it, Joe Biden couldn’t have written a more effective book against the president of the United States. But you say that, you know, I say that, I say it’s like an anti-Trump campaign book, but it’s coming from inside the family. There’s never been anything like this in modern political history, to have the niece of a president write a scathing tell-all. RUSH: And the upshot of it is, I guess, that Trump’s father abused him and that Trump has no moral compass, that Trump doesn’t strategize anything, that Trump just does what Trump wants to do. He didn’t expect to win the presidency, he was shocked when he did, has been acting it out ever since. Where was this four or five years ago? Why is this now surfacing? Look. We all families, we’ve all got, as Ross Perot said, the crazy uncle up in the attic that we don’t let out except at Thanksgiving and so forth. But I think that these people behind this, like that Trump was abused and he has no moral compass and he’s basically psychologically damaged, his father didn’t teach him love, Trump is incapable of love, he’s incapable empathy, that he thinks the most important thing in the world is money. In fact, there isn’t anything else. Money is everything. It defines you. It defines your character. It defines your success. Money, money, money, that’s it. No empathy, no love, no compassion whatsoever. And these people in the media, CNN, have just glommed onto this like it’s the next Mueller, it’s the next Russia collusion story. It’s the continuation of all of these things they have tried to overturn the election results of 2016. The COVID virus was an extension of that, an attempt to keep the Mueller campaign, the purpose of it going, and now they’ve got this book by Trump’s niece. Why didn’t she say something when he was actually running back in 2015 and 2016? I know, I know, nondisclosure agreements. She supposedly has one. They’ve silenced her. They’ve tried to keep her quiet on this. But she could have leaked it as easily then as she did now. One of the things that I think has happened is that she and elements of her strain of the family have been written out of the big will. I think she got a couple hundred grand and that was it. You mess with people’s money, and you’re gonna tick ’em off, guaran-damn-tee you, particularly if their expectations are high. (interruption) Of what you laughing at? (interruption) Well, I think that’s really what’s going on here. Two-hundred grand inheritance where everybody else is getting gazillions, however much it is. Here’s the thing. This is just the latest in a never-ending, four-years-long shock expose. How many of these have there been? You know, during the two years of the Mueller investigation and the Trump-Russia meddling story, there was a blockbuster practically every hour in the New York Times, and then the next hour a blockbuster in the Washington Post. And then a blockbuster on CNN, and then a blockbuster on MSNBC. I mean, there were numerous blockbusters every day and certainly every week. They just kept coming. None of them were true. Not a single word of any of them were true. Then we got the faux impeachment. That wasn’t true. Nothing about that was true. There hasn’t been a single word of truth written about any of these supposed crimes or impeachable offenses that Donald Trump has engaged in. Through it all, he has not lost his base, which has been their primary objective. Now, if they believe — I mean, Brian Stelter practically wet his pants getting his hands on this. You could hear it in his voice. So excited. Joe Biden couldn’t have written a better campaign book? So their expectations are that this book is gonna do what Mueller couldn’t. This book is gonna do what Strzok Smirk and McCabe and all the rest couldn’t do. This book is gonna do what Adam Schiff couldn’t do. This book is gonna do what impeachment couldn’t do. This book is gonna finally wake people up to the truth of this reprobate, Donald Trump. This is it. This puts Biden over the finish line. Why is this going to be treated or have any different impact than all these others? There have been blockbusters that are of equally supposedly damaging nature that haven’t had one shred of an impact on Trump and his base, from Trump being a traitor to Trump being a Russian agent, which, by the way, now they’re recycling and with Putin, you know, naming himself Russian president for life, that gave them the opportunity to say that Trump is gonna be a double agent for life now. As long as Putin is there, Trump has a future. They just can’t let it go. 📷Why is this gonna be any different? It’s like these wacko leftists, the revolutionaries who are expecting that if they get some of this that they want, that they could be happy, content, lifetime dreams are gonna be realized, and they’re gonna feel as empty as they do now because getting what they want is not gonna make ’em happy because it ever been has. They can’t get enough. They can’t. You cannot give them enough. We’ve learned this. We’ve tried to compromise with them. No matter what they get, it’s never enough, and this isn’t gonna be enough. A total win is not gonna be enough. When are they gonna learn? This is just an expanded Access Hollywood video example. If the Access Hollywood video didn’t stop Trump, why is this book? In fact, it may backfire. All of this stuff, this never-ending assault on a single human being who didn’t do anything to anybody, who is the one guy standing in the way of the attempt to ruin this country, somehow they think people are gonna abandon him because of a book by a disgruntled family member, when nothing else has done it? Now, I’m not saying Trump hasn’t been damaged and the agenda hasn’t been interrupted and so forth. But their definition of success is getting Trump out of office, getting him out of town. They have not succeeded, no matter what they’ve thrown at him. And this not going to result in that. If anything, it’s gonna create a backlash. At some point — and we may already be there — a lot of people are going to say, “I’ve had it with this. We’re gonna support Trump just to screw with you guys. We’re sick and tired of it. Can’t you do anything else in the news except report on this guy?” BREAK TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Folks, one thing I need to clarify here. Little Brian Stelter, in the audio sound bite we just played about the Trump niece book, said (summarized), “That’s why these copies are starting to leak out. There’s such demand for this book now.” No, there is not. That’s not why this book has been released early. Now, I can’t tell you why the book has been released early, although I know. I have been sworn to confidentiality. But you gotta believe me: Demand for this book by Mary Trump has nothing to do with its early release. That’s just PR, BS, buzz. Do not doubt me on this — and you can go to the bank. I’m telling you. If you first doubt everything you hear in any Drive-By Media story — doubt it — you’ll be on the safe side of every story by doubting it. And I’m telling you: In this case, demand for the Trump book, nobody knows what it is. It has nothing to do with why it was moved up. It may… One of the reasons for moving it up may be to create this faux impression that there is massive demand for it. But I am telling you: Massive demand is not why the book was moved up. I’ll tell you other thing. 📷Little Brian Stelter — peeing in his pants over this book — doesn’t know this, either. He doesn’t. Nobody knows why this book was moved up. They’re being told in the Drive-By Media that it’s because of demand. When the last time you ever heard of a book release actually being moved up because of demand by the public to see it? They wait and wait and wait. They cultivate the demand. They go for online sales. They don’t do it this way. There’s a reason why this book was moved up, and it has nothing to do with public demand. Oh, I mean, I’d love to tell you the real reason, but I can’t because I’ve promised. In exchange for being told the truth of the story, I promised that I wouldn’t tell anybody. Now, the staff’s saying, “Can you tell us during the break?” Well, no, because it’s so hot that you’ll go out and you’ll put it on Twitter — or this new Parler, whatever that is — and it will be all over the place out there. I’m just telling you: There is no massive demand for the Trump niece book. It’s not why it’s been moved up. BREAK TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Let’s go to Croton, Ohio, or maybe it’s Croton. Not sure. This is Laurie, and great to have you. Hello. CALLER: Hi, Rush. I’m so happy to speak with you. RUSH: Thank you. CALLER: I just want to let you know that you and Kathryn and your family are in our daily prayers. You’re the mayor of Realville, and we cannot afford to let you go now. RUSH: We sincerely appreciate that. Thank you very much. CALLER: Thanks. Thanks. Well, what I was calling about is I don’t think this book coming out… I don’t think it’s gonna hurt Trump one single bit. In fact, I think it’s tremendously gonna help him. What they are saying is that children of abuse cannot grow up to be successful. Literally in that — RUSH: Wait, wait whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Is that something…? (sigh) I don’t know this. So is this something that is universally believed in the psychological community that the children of abuse can’t grow up to be successful? Is that a rule of thumb that has been acknowledged in the psychological, academic community? 📷CALLER: No. No. What I’m saying is that the left, by saying this — Trump, just because he grew up, if he was abused by his father, that he wasn’t taught love, and so he is not loving, he can’t love — they’re saying that if you’re abused, you don’t know how to love, is what I’m taking out of that. RUSH: Oh, so you’re just…? This is just your own analysis about it. CALLER: Yeah. I’m just an average country girl, and that’s what I was thinking. RUSH: Okay. CALLER: But I just think it’s another example how Trump is not a victim; like even if he was abused, look where he’s come. He didn’t let it define him. RUSH: Well, that’s the point, see, that they’re gonna try to make. By the way, I agree with you. I think this is gonna blow up in their faces like Access Hollywood video blew up in their faces. I think it’s gonna cause people to in effect circle wagons around Trump, because it’s just the latest pile-on. If this were the first thing and it was 2016, maybe a different story. But now? Where was it in 2016? Where was it in 2017? Where was it in 2018? Where was it during the Russian hoax? Where was it during…? You know, they could have folded this into the Russian hoax to explain why Trump was a traitor, ’cause his dad abused him. Where was it then? It wasn’t anywhere. They could have said, “Because Trump’s dad abused him, he wanted to need a father figure in his life, and guess who he chose? Vladimir Putin!” They didn’t do that. They could have had skits on Saturday Night Live with Trump calling Putin, saying, “Hey, Dad, how are you doing? What do you need me to screw up in America today? I’m willing to do whatever, Dad.” But they didn’t do that. So now here comes this thing. I’m saying, I don’t know what they say about abused children. All I know is that… I led such a sheltered life. I don’t know that I know anybody who was abused. (sigh) Maybe I do and I’ve forgotten; I don’t know. But the idea that abused people can’t succeed? That can’t be. You know, back in the argumentative days of abortion when one of the primary arguments used to abort a child was, “We can’t bring a child into that kind of poverty. Why, who would we be? “We wouldn’t dare want a child born into those socioeconomic circumstances,” and then you find out that all kinds of people born into poverty became some of the greatest people in world history, that it didn’t matter. It’s the same thing with people who’ve been abused. I think this notion that saying Trump was abused by his dad is a way to make whatever other allegations they are about Trump undeniable. Because as you know what they say, parental abuse as a horrible, horrible thing — and, by the way, it falls in nicely with Epstein. Epstein was abusing these underage girls with Ghislaine Maxwell. You’ve got that out there right now. So you associate the abuse with the attempt to portray Trump as inhuman, no empathy, no compassion. He’s strictly a mean-spirited, selfish cares-about-nobody-but-himself kind of figure, which is what they’re gonna try to create here. But the idea that he’s not a victim is a good observation here on the part of the Laurie in Ohio. Now, in the American left today, victimhood is an aspirational thing. You should want to be a victim. They’ll find a group for you to be a victim of, if you want. They’d love you to become a victim. You know why? ‘Cause you’re surrendering your life. When you admit that you’re a victim, you’re admitting that you have no control over your life. 📷You have nothing to say about what happens to you. You know why? Because you’ve been victimized, you’ve been discriminated against, you’ve been — and you have been destroyed. So you need the Democrat Party and the government looking out for you. So they’ll take anybody wants to be a victim and make ’em a victim. But Trump here did not become a victim. I mean, Donald Trump, whatever else he does, does not exude victimhood. He doesn’t apologize for himself. He’s not running around saying, “Woe is me.” The closest he gets is when he rips the media for not reporting on him accurately.
