Trump was the red pill, but we're still in the Matrix. Even if he serves another term, where would we be in four years? Right back here? The MAGA Movement was meant to live on well passed Trump. I'm thankful for what he's done.
"You know this is a movement folks. This is not even maybe about me. I don't want it to be about me. This is about common sense. It's about doing the right thing." - Donald Trump, during the 2016 campign
This is total bullshit. On average, ~7500 Americans die every day. This post is accidentally making the point that fewer people are dying on average than ever before. Leave it to a lefty to fuck up their own propaganda.
The case law that's cited here is Burdick vs. United States (1915) where SCOTUS basically said the same thing Sullivan is saying. It should be noted that this was just a comment in the majority opinion and not directly related to the decision.
Presidents have pardoned people who they believe to be innocent, such as Trump's pardon of Jack Johnson. In these cases, the person is not considered to be guilty. Flynn accepting Trump's pardon doesn't imply his guilt, as Trump has extolled his innocence.
Not history, but C.S. Lewis' "The Abolition of Man" and "The Screwtape Letters" were two of the best books I read this year. People think of Lewis as just the guy who wrote the Narnia books, but he was was an incredibly well-read theologian who wrote extensively about morality, ethics, Christianity, and good vs. evil.
It's two terms period. 22nd amendment. Political parties are not a Constitutional entity, just a convenience.
Just adding a bit of context, but the profile pic is the cover of his new book.
That's so not the point why this is a big deal. I think everyone assumed Sundance would be able to migrate to a different website. It's the fact that after 10 years, WordPress is deplatforming him despite having broken none of their ToS agreements.
I picked up a few newspapers this morning for the same reason haha
"The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice."
1982 was a very different time. The country wasn't nearly as partisan, the '86 amnesty bill still hadn't happened, and the threats of the digital information age on elections hadn't risen up yet.
Not exactly this, but the election of 1824 was sketchy as hell. Andrew Jackson won the popular vote and the most electoral votes, but didn't receive a majority because there were three other major candidates on the ticket: John Quincy Adams, Henry Clay, and William Crawford.
No EC majority meant that a contingent vote was held in the House of Representatives to determine the president. Before the vote, Adams met with Henry Clay, the current Speaker of the House, and Clay agreed to use his influence in the House to back Adams.
Thus, despite winning the most popular and electoral votes, Andrew Jackson lost the presidency and JQA was elected instead.
If no candidate earns a majority in the Electoral College (i.e 270 votes), then a contingent election is called where the House of Representatives votes for the president and the Senate votes for the Vice President.
The kicker is that the entire House doesn't vote, but rather each state's delegation gets one vote between themselves. Essentially each state gets one vote for the president
Funny, looks like a parody account though
John James is looking like he'll flip the MI seat too!
The only people asking questions are limousine liberals who have been living in a delusional fantasy land for the past four years. Everyone with a brain understood that this was possible.
Florida isn't a state that the Biden campaign was counting on
LOL how much denial are you to say that a presidential campaign isn't counting on Florida
Isn't his whole job to do needle-like analysis on voting? Why is he a household name if he's just gonna weasel out of every prediction he makes?
"I'M GROWING STRONGER!"
Trump won OH by >8% in 2016. I have faith
Unfortunately not haha to be VP you have to meet all of the requirements to be president, and since Trump would have served two terms, he is no longer eligible to be president, and therefore not eligible to be VP either.
of all people, I thought students would be out in mass voting
How do you get to be a "chief elections officer" and not know that the students/youth vote is notoriously the least reliable demographic?
"Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Pennsylvania,"
Cue Vince Mcmahon meme
Anything is possible after the week we had, but Photoshop does exist
Not to rain on anyone's parade, but Audie Murphy was deeply traumatized by his experience during the war and was never able to live a normal life again. He slept with a gun under his pillow for decades and nearly killed his wife during mental breakdown. His sacrifices were honorable and should be remembered, but I think people have a very flawed perspective of the actual man.
