Exactly. Nobody is stopping them! Here in Austin there was this nonprofit called “Take Back the Trail,” regarding our downtown hike and bike trail. Tried to encourage minorities to use the trail. I always bristled at the name of it. Take it “back?” Back from whom or what? It was built by Lady Bird Johnson, with her direction and vision. Why can’t people just accept that culturally if a group doesn’t value fitness for their own sake, then it’s not other people’s responsibility to make them care? I appreciate that the group was encouraging fitness for minorities, that is positive, but why does it have to be territorially framed like they are taking something from white people?
Exactly!!! Also I’m personally feeling oppressed because I can’t visit a luxury resort. The transportation argument is the dumbest one on this national park thing. If you don’t have a car, there are about a million places you can’t go. I don’t get it.
