Why would the Secret Service ask questions to a shop owner about the purchase of a gun when they have a direct line to the DOJ in their office? The answer is clearly they wanted to know something only the owner knew, meaning the time of purchase, customer info, or who was actually physically in the shop to make the purchase.
My instincts tell me this is something bigger than appears. How this happened involves multiple agencies including the DOJ, Secret Service and ATF, Delaware police departments.
The interesting part is the first thing the SS did, why contact the owner of the store for details when they have direct access to DOJ records of the transaction? They weren't looking for something the owner knew, they were looking for information ONLY the owner knew.
