In response to others and some questions, I offer the following.
Every "religion" save one, requires an individual to do good works, or in some other manner, earn favor with God Whose standard is perfection. None of us measures up to that standard.
Because of His love for mankind, God the Father (Yahweh) sent His Son as a man to live a sinless life, and then to pay the penalty for our sin. His sacrifice and shed blood paid that price for all who would believe on His name; Jesus (Yeshua). As proof of His sinless life, the Father raised Him from the grave after three days conquering death and the grave.
One man brought sin into the world, and God the Father made a way through His Son, for us to stand before Him in eternity as perfect by the simple act of acknowledging that we can't approach Him with our good deeds, but that in acceptance of His Son's sacrifice, we will live in eternity with Him.

Our politicians, probably a large percentage of them, and the companies we used to buy "Made in the USA" items from have moved to Chinese manufacturing for cheap labor, and to feed our desire for lower prices.
Those products that are still made in the US, are usually, but not always considerably more expensive than those made in China. We control who we buy from, and sometimes doing the right things isn't the cheapest thing.
Sam Walton's famous motto was "Made in the USA", and for many years, a majority of their products were exactly that. Today, you're hard pressed to find any products that are not foreign made.
That's the way cities, school, districts, and agencies work. If their plea for more is accepted, they can do what they wish with what they (usually claim) they don't have.

J. Edgar Hoover was a loathsome man who never personally worked a case. He worked in the office his entire career and stepped into the Newly created FBI at the time of the Osage murders.
