nuclear power: "Are you through needlessly suffering yet?"

I am not sure I have heard the latter part of your statement coming from them (but I also haven't seen MM's documentary) - I always figured they were opposed to the burning of cellulose waste - the EPA sure seems to be.

Last year I investigated installing an outdoor wood-fired boiler to supplement the heating and hot water needs for several properties that I have which share property lines. But, because my municipality requires that all "stoves" have EPA certifications (all outdoor wood-fired boilers lost their certs ~5 years ago) it was essentially illegal for me to install one. Nevermind that I essentially have an "unlimited" supply of logging refuse and wood chips just a couple of miles from my home... And we've have some extremely damaging wild fires come through my area in the last few decades because of bad forest fuel management.

Power Plant Engineer here, energy policy is a fascination of mine... I still have yet to hear an explanation on how POC are specifically targeted by climate change practices. I'd argue the converse is true: due to these practices, they aren't burdened with excessive energy costs (who am I kidding, in true hardship your power is basically free...)

Solid, I'll start doing something similar.

In NM they currently have an aggressive fundraising campaign on the premise of no further mineral leases on federal lands with a good bit of the public education system's funding coming from oil and NG royalties... I have been replying to their fundraising texts with something along the lines of "elections have consequences". New Mexicans voted for this - Biden said he was going to phase out American Oil - so don't say you didn't know.

John Hopkins had a study which basically said no additional deaths from covid alone. It was quickly censored.

It really is insane. Those claiming to be the most "open minded" are actually the most resistant to information contrary to the narrative that they tell themselves.

The most exemplary case I can think of is I made one of those "educated" people sit down and watch the videos leading up to and including the final Trump said "Nazi's are very fine people". She clearly processed it for a minute, more like she was a deer in the headlights... then she said "well, he meant to say that as that's what he believes, regardless"

We live in a ClownWorld.

I have the same same desktop mat!

My GF did something similar. She registered as a Dem and they sent her no less than 6 unsolicited applications for an absentee ballot. I received one as a Libertarian (after JoJo's statements about BLM, I am now a member of the Patriot party).

I have analyzed and have nothing that I disagree with in your account. Accept my upvote. I will also be essentially removing myself from society while simultaneously wasting enormous amounts of time attempting to minimize my tax liability to the lowest legal levels.

Folks love to cite that homosexuals have lower than nominal rates of domestic violence and it is true... for gays. For lesbians it is WAAAAY higher, so either lesbianism is a mental illness predisposing someone to violence or domestic violence has a uniquely female component.

On the flipside of romanticizing, maybe the State should just say "you're released but we've determined your life is of no value to society and therefore there are no penalties involved should anyone choose to end your life".

Solving the issues of state funded incarceration and the death penalty all at once!

I am neither for nor against the death penalty. It just annoys me that people are on it for years, consuming public funds. They should get a single year to essentially say their goodbyes from behind bars.

You're exactly right. Apolitical people I know came out in droves to support Trump because this was a battle between good and evil, China and the USA, BLM/Antifa and orderly society. Their efforts weren't enough.

Now's the time to slink into the shadows to avoid taking the brunt of what's coming. By the left's standards: we don't deserve to have a voice, next its (or already has been) a job, then we don't deserve access to public utilities or to eat.... then ultimately we don't deserve to exist. We're the lepers, to be cast out; the one thing they surely will want in the future going forward is for us to pay taxes.

They have control of the State, we'll never have control again - they'll pack the courts, they'll make PR and DC into states, they'll delete the electoral college amongst many other things. It's over.

Now that's creepy. I thought it sounded suspiciously not like an AR15 but I also haven't been around one with a bumpstock...

You've sold me, pede.

I despise some engineers as well. Most of them don't know jack shit and think because they 'understand' Code they know everything there is to know. Me: "you should try turning a wrench sometime"

I try to write my specifications to be as simple as possible for installation. If something doesn't have a specific requirement (Code or other technical reasons), I don't mention it. I don't think I have put "field variety" on a single design as that seems incredibly lazy; "field-route", sure, but "field-variety" basically means craft/electricians/mechanics are basically responsible for the "design"... why was an engineer even needed then?

As someone who's "gone to college", with a master's in engineering, I have to say: I find "educated" people to be some of the dumbest MFers out there. One of the best stories was my FAR-left PhD-endowed tenant (who's the same age) asking me to inflate his car tires because he didn't understand how to do it. Not long after that he had the gall to express distain for my support of DJT and conservative principles (which as my tenant-neighbor, he could see) and how much he paid in rent (which was fair per the market)... he's no longer my tenant and his security deposit wasn't returned (for valid, legal reasons related to our contract, if you were curious).

I'd much rather be someone who knows shit about the world and how things work than someone who is simply endowed with an acronym and has to pay others to help them.

Assuming we can ever win an election again (which I doubt), will they claim "Russian Interference" if Russian servers host Parler?

Pre-covid, some folks would ride their motorcycles with a bandana over their face to keep the bugs off.

No one believes me but when I was younger and more flexible, I actually could get my mouth on my own tip. Remarkably unremarkable feeling.

Trump looked much better than I do in my 30s.

Also, I wasn't aware Huffy made anything more than kids bikes.

They put up a profile photo of a blacked out circle/square 6 months ago in support of the riots. I'm now going to put up a photo of Trump. Maybe FB will ban me for apparently supporting riots and save me the clicks.
