100% this!! The military and this country has given me far more than I gave them. I did my job...nothing more or less. But that doesn’t make me a fucking hero. I know people mean well by thanking me for my service but it drives me insane. I knew what I signed up for but it was more “hurry up and wait” and a lot less “barrel chested freedom fighter” than people realize.
Same here! I remember buying my grandfather “Rush Is Right” with money I made cutting grass. I was so excited to give it to him and the look on his face was priceless. We’d sit in the car or on the back porch listening to him on AM radio. Some of the best memories I have growing up.

I trust POTUS and if he says he was a shitty leader, that settles it for me. I joined the the military after 9/11 and thought Jr was patriotic as fuck. Was ready and willing to die for him and this country. Turns out he was a shit bag and now Mattis has been added to that list as well.
He was saying “he may be”.....because that’s been a talking point of the left. He’s saying “even if he is a bigot, asshole, whatever, he loves America and that benefits us all so get out of your fucking feelings”
At least that’s my interpretation.
