I'm not talking about voters. I'm not even talking about liberals. I'm talking about people who've just been told america isn't great, but it could be, if only they just give the government a little more power. The power to "help" It happens all the time, on both sides. Patriot act ring a bell? Tons of people have been lucky enough not to be targeted by the government. Until they, or someone they care about ARE, they'll continue to give that government power, all from a "moral" reasoning. A desire to help. Just lacking foresight to see how they're attempts will just lead to oppression.
It's hard, but this is hope. But hope isn't a guarantee. My wife's family literally thinks Trump has done "nothing good" despite not having a problem with 90% of his actions. One believed Trump pardoned Ramsey Bolton, a fictional character from Game of Thrones. It's not about Trump, it's not about us or them. Half of America has come to the conclusion that the only thing keeping America from being "great" is people "who only care about themselves" I hear it all the time. They just never think the problems will reach THEM in any meaningful way, so of COURSE the benefits outweigh the cost. They don't understand. It will cost them everything.
Cant tell what crenshaw does in the next 4 years, but If both of them get through the primaries for senate, it's a sign that Texas deserves what it gets.
