As a doctor this makes me want to cry. Hormonal birth control is awful, and antidepressants are almost worse. Is there any chance you can switch to an IUD or a different non-hormonal method? Why would they tell you to keep taking something if it's making you sick??
Go to a small private clinic instead of a big hospital. The doctors who work at big hospitals are fine with regulation. They're fine doing what they're told.
I'm talking the smaller the clinic the better. You want the misfit doctors who don't like authority. You also want a doctor who's 60+, and has run out of fucks to give/isn't terrified of getting in trouble.

My parents also grew up in Russia. My father lived in a house- each FAMILY got one room. Not one bedroom, one room. There were 9 families in this house. There were two stoves so they each got one stove burner. Except one who didn’t get one at all. My grandparents were doctors. (Yes, my grandmother was born in 1927 and was somehow allowed into medical school).
That’s communism. Absolutely no reward for effort. They fled to the US when my dad was 17.
They renamed lake Calhoun in Minneapolis to “bde maka ska”. It’s so stupid I don’t have words. No one I know calls it the new name, but I’m sure they spent thousands changing all the signs. They won’t change Fort Bragg to something easy, they’ll change it to another language and then call you racist if you pronounce it wrong.

Don’t do this. I’m in Minneapolis and my step mom has metastatic cancer. She went in to have 3 organs removed and my father was kicked out by 8-10 security guards. He had a mask on, he just wasn’t allowed past the waiting room. Fight the system and all, but you’re just being forced to abandon your wife that way. It’s private property :(
