Our Constitution mandates our government complete a nationwide Census once every ten years. Census data is used to determine a state's representation in Congress based on population density and is also used to re-draw legislative districts as well as to determine the amount of federal funding a state receives for things like roads and schools. The Census Bureau also collects data on demographics and economic information such as the average age of the country's population or the average rate of home ownership.
Census field operations only occur once every ten years. Has nothing to do with voting.

Fair enough, I just didn't understand the argument you were making. A question though, the state does seem to control almost every other aspect of our lives including what we do with our bodies for a virus using the argument that we have to save lives and that does not seem to rankle people as much as the same argument used for the unborn... Any thoughts as to why that would be?
