People are obviously interested in politics, yet I don't see people starting campaigns on youtube. Why do all of the people that run seem so robotic? In the age of the internet, why can't someone just define their positions, make a youtube channel explaining their policies in detail, without the worry of network time limits, and hit post? If it's good, it WILL spread. You can now get nationwide funding through digital banking.
Why do we have to keep picking the people chosen for us? Why can't we just pick someone that we agree with out of the sea of internet users? If they're afraid of the ramifications of their views, just do it anonymously until you've garnered enough support to go public. If I saw flyers around town with a youtube link and a title saying "hey I'm running for office, here are my positions". I'd check it out. With the narcissistic nature of social media and the internet. I don't know why there's not a political app where everyone's profile is their campaign. The ones that blow up and get donations can actually go run.
You wouldn't really need money to get your voice heard. You might not get attention or receive donations. But you could at least do SOMETHING instead of feeling like you're not allowed to run because you aren't a millionaire or bought with lobby money.
Merry Christmas! God Bless you and your family!
