It is a little jarring sometimes to people who aren't used to it, just remember that its just someone who is very passionate about what they are communicating. I do it too and I have to check myself when I'm around older folks to respect them.

The first patriot act made it legal to arrest someone and hold them indefinitely without being charged with a crime. Honest to god suspension of habeus corpus. I believe that part has been revoked, but shit has been broiling for a long time.

That is excellent punning wordplay, I love it.

I like her. I like people who you at least know exactly what they are thinking. Can have a normal conversation that way. Of course, I agree with her too.

no, as in

"Affected" means "impacted, created an effect on, changed in a certain way

CHANGED IN A CERTAIN WAY

Come on man, man up and admit you were wrong and learn from it instead of getting all childish about it.

AffectedEffected Meaning"Affected" means "impacted, created an effect on, changed in a certain way.""Effected" means "executed, brought about, produced something."

Look, I know no one likes to admit when they're wrong, but its not me in this particular instance.

I'm not here to tear you down but you're reacting really emotionally and if you took the time to read a little bit you would learn something here.

https://www.diffen.com/difference/Affected_vs_Effected

Don't react that way unless you are absolutely sure of something.

Also, here: https://entertainism.com/does-television-affect-your-intelligence

They wouldn't use the word affect in the title of the article unless I was right in the way to use it.

One more, showing the correct usage of the verb: https://yourstory.com/mystory/top-five-industries-affected-artificial-intelliegnce

Agreed, also native here. When I was a kid we would swim in canals and there were giant toads, ducks, cranes, crawdads and catfish in city water. All gone now, along with the beautiful land eaten up for housing, and the general vibe of the people is nowhere near as genial as it was years ago. The drugs and homelessness is astronomical now too, I remember when crack cocaine rolled through and meth was right after, ruining neighborhoods.

effected my intelligence at all

heh. "affected" always be careful when claiming to be intelligent. If you like, I can look up some of the studies for your perusal.

I don't know why I find this so funny and yet beautiful at the same time ...

you're overreacting emotionally after not understanding what I wrote. I'll just stop talking now. I never said hydroxy had years behind it for covid, I said it had years for malaria and by extension was known as a safe and reliable drug/medication.

The tv making people dumb I firmly believe, but I understand if you don't. Theres no need for this to turn into an insult circus.

You're misunderatanding me. I said there were years of study for hydroxy vs malaria, NOT covid. Read what I said carefully.

Keep yourself safe first of all fren. If a move out of Chicago does that, do it quick and safely. We need more people like you with common sense.

The problem with this is that are years of study regarding television.

And, lets not forget vested interests can overturn true peer reviewed studies, and influence them to get the results they want. It's happened many times, I remember one scientist even had to sue the board to overturn their false rescinding of his study.

Hydroxy also has years of study behind it too, I don't think your argument is very solid here. Not in the context of fighting covid, but nonetheless as an anti malarial.

You're kind of contradicting yourself by saying something can't be verified until it has many peer reviews, studies, and scientific consensus, but then you say none of it matters.

Lets just say television never made anyone a genius and leave it at that ok?
