We had 15 years of non stop war in the Middle East. We got sick of it and wanted peace. The only way to get it was by electing a builder who was not in the swamp. Get PADI (or one of the others) certified. Local dive clubs are all over the States. If you have kids old enough, take them too. My dad took me and my brother and we all did the course at the same time. Clubs also organize trips to fun locations once you get bored with diving your local lakes / rivers.
The one I used to go to would buy big old boats and sink them in the lakes so there would be something cool to explore. Probably not allowed to do that anymore.
Plus, you can learn how to use a dive knife to carve various Trump Won and Fraud2020 into everything.
