Haha, yeah, try and make a respectable party out of the gop! We had a local guy who had the time, temperament, wisdom and knowledge to make a great township supervisor. I dont know the reasons, but our local chair didn’t want him, even though he would have easily won. He and his minions assassinated his character so thoroughly, the guy ended up moving. Oir local chair was a piece of work, total piece of shit. Owned a couple of very profitable businesses. He bought up a whole block of houses over a couple decades, tore them down one by one to reduce the tax burden until he got enough parcels to aggregate and rezone. Had roads moved, etc. Now a big chain convenience store is going in. It was brilliant, took a lot of money and patience, but thats why he was on the committee. He picked the supervisors, and im sure financed the few thousand bucks it takes to get elected. For $10-20k, he could have put whatever he wanted on that ground. Thats how local politics works. Its not like people are paying people off directly, they do “favors”. Eg. Township uses paving companies. They get bids, and they let their buddy know what the low bid is. Boom, he gets the paving contract, and supervisor, committee chair, whovever gets a cheap driveway, or cheap paving for the convenience store. One of our supervisors had two old cars in the driveway, 6 months after being elected, they had two new luxury cars on a single state income. Hows that happen? You send the township fleet needs to your car dealer buddy. Its all untraceable, even if anyone ever took the time to look.

School board story. We actually had the best friend of a recently divorced woman get on the school board, then she used that position to get the husband fired from the school, because the divorced woman filed a pfa against him.

You nailed it. As someone who ran and served a term, i can tell you, you wont do shit. If you stick to it for 20 years, and are loyal, do what they tell you and suck enough gop dick, you moght eventually have a smidgeon of influence at the county level someday. But not enough to change anything. You are basically the workhorse for the corrupt fuckers further up the gop ladder. It was even corrupt at the local level. County gop committee was totally fucked. I went once because leadership was up for election, it was a scam. Party politics is all about whose turn it is, and which office they are waiting for.

But yeah, everyone should do it, see for yourself. The parties are the problem. You wont get any further than local office without party support. And maybe not even local office. It was very much a waste of my time.

Seriously though, those fake meat products are the most processed foods in the world. You want to link food with climate, lets talk about obesity. I’d be fine with rationing food to people who are more than 10% overweight. I bet the average person in this country has twice the effect on climate by overeating. Its not just the production of the food, its trucking it, stores and restaurants that sell it, massive amounts of healthcare and drugs due to their obesity, joint replacements, etc.

I dont get that when i am not wearing a mask, mostly because often, i wont see anyone else maskless. But even when i d see another person maskless, i dont feel anything other than “hey, theres a rational human”. Never felt a sense of camaraderie.

For almost a year, i see the sheep with the masks, and its ruined my whole outlook on people. I used to think i was surrby retards, now im sure of it. Massive paradigm shift.
