It's my first home. It was foreclosed on when the housing bubble burst back in '08-'09 and sat vacant until I bought it in 2016, so I got an insanely good deal on it. I viewed it as a long-term investment, but a small part of me hoped that someday I would meet the right woman and fill all those rooms with children.
I don't really consider adoption to be a good option if it means single fatherhood. Children deserve to have both a father and a mother. I'm an engineer and work long hours, so I don't have much confidence in my ability to both do my job and do an adequate job of raising children on my own.
To be honest, I'm very introverted and don't like spending time around other people very much. I've been told that I'm a very private person. It's rare that I find someone that I feel comfortable being around, and even more so that I find a woman who makes me want to open up. That's part of why I'm so pessimistic about my chances.
