HOWEVER, if Arizona were flipped, it would be a huge political development that would undermine Biden’s authority. Remember, the story is that Trump is nuts and the election is valid in all the states. If one of the states finally conducts a real audit and it validates Trump, that would be a thunderclap. It would create political pressure to really audit the other states.
Could you give me a source for your claim that Roberts refused to preside because he thought it was political theater? I saw mention of some statement from a guy from the Virgin Islands claiming Roberts refused that didn’t sound particularly credible but that’s it.
You have it wrong. You should not interpret Roberts’ nonparticipation as an indication he thinks it’s unconstitutional.
Roberts is not presiding because the Chief Justice only presides over impeachment trials for the sitting president. Trump is not that so he’s being treated like any other impeached federal official.
You serious? He’s the president. He should have had 20 people delegated to manage and safeguard his reelection starting in Jan 2016, with 2 people assigned to each swing state. He should have been figuring out how to put Twitter and Facebook’s testicles in a vice before 2020.
I will bet you right now Trump didn't know anything about the Georgia settlement between Kemp, Raffensperger and Abrams until after the election. He knew nothing about Dominion until after the election. He was figuring it all out after the fact and relying on the world’s crappiest lawyers. I thought Trump handled it pretty poorly, actually. He never let Raffensperger speak for very long, interrupting him constantly. The one guy we didn’t need to hear speak was Trump. I for one was very interested in hearing Raffensperger’s view of Ruby Freeman and her band of late night vote counters, and all I heard was Trump’s opinion of Ruby Freeman, which wasn’t very illuminating, since we know what Trump thinks.
How about just ask Raffensperger “Was there a leak, yes or no”. “Why were people reporting there was a leak?” “How could they keep voting unobserved”? “Do you know how those votes were allocated between Trump and Biden” etc. But Trump kept hopping from point to point, and letting Raff off the hook by interrupting him before he could struggle to explain and moving to another point.

In 2016, Trump had no loyal group of friends to appoint to Administrative positions who had the experience to guide him correctly and watch his back, not that Trump can be guided. He does whatever he wants and doesn’t take counsel.
Most of his inner circle of business associates have checkered histories and are probably at risk of going to jail if they are background checked with any seriousness. He relies on an army of lousy hack lawyers like Michael Cohen, who’s chief value is not in their legal minds, but in their willingness to rent out their law license to shield slimy business transactions, like the stupid negotiations with Stormy Daniels. Rudy Giuliani himself is fairly slimy — he’s a political fixer, not a lawyer in any real sense.

The BLM riots were conducted on the Dem home turf and they were protected and fostered by the local political apparatus. The local DAs were Soros funded and established policies to avoid charging them and release them promptly follow arrest. Also, the media treated the rioters as heroes and made efforts to rationalize their criminal behavior.
If Trump supporters riot in Washington or other Dem-controlled cities (i.e., enemy turf), they will not receive similar kid-glove treatment. They will be confronted by SWAT teams, shot at and locked up. Promptly. The media and social media companies will not treat the rioters similarly to BLMers. They will call them “white supremacists” and “right wing anarchists” seeking to undo a democratic election, and will call on the government to suppress them violently. Any rioter casualties will be approved by the media and social media cos and blamed on the rioters.
Personally I think people going down to Washington are going to be humiliated (screamed at and have crap thrown at them) at best, or, at worst, get the crap beat out of them, because that is enemy turf, the police are controlled by the Dems and they will be fully unleashed with the knowledge that the media will cover for the violence.

Nikki Haley has always been establishment and her attempts to insinuate with Trump and Trump supporters was calculated. SC also produced Lindsey Graham too, who frankly would be at home as a northeastern Republican.
I think the issue with SC is that it’s pretty “old boy,” by which I mean getting anywhere in the state politics is based on “who you know.” So you get to the top in the SC GOP by kissing the right butts, and that’s really just the state chamber of commerce and the band of real estate developers that run things. So you get Nikki Haley. She hasn’t an independent thought in her head, just ideas of what she needs to support to get to whatever the next rung is.
She is equivalent to George W and Jeb Bush. Her agenda would overlay perfectly with theirs. She would want to “fix our broken immigration system” to keep wages low for her business owner friends for sure.
