It's got me wondering if things like tiktok won't challenge the double standard that's existed for so long. Red teamer/righty says something stupid, they'll get crucified for it. A blue teamer/lefty says something stupid, nothing will happen at worst, but increasingly it's beautiful and brave or something equally dumb.
I've grown up with this bullshit. I remember being a kid and being horrified to learn that global cooling will cause a global ice age by 2000.
Then suddenly it was global warming and the icecaps were going to melt by 2007 and flood the beaches.
That was pushed back to 2012.
Then 2014. But by 2013 it was changed to climate change and global warming was dropped, albeit inconsistently.
Now any time something remotely nature related happens it's the fault of climate change. Neo druids set monster island on fire? Climate change. Too many hurricanes? Climate change. Not enough hurricanes? Climate change. A cold winter? Climate change. A nice summer? Climate change. California perpetually on fire? Climate change.
It helps that climate and change are conceptually analogous; climate is always changing. Leave it to the wicked wordsmiths of the left to foster confusion to push their ideologies. God knows an honest take on their ideas would cause them to melt faster than a fucking icecap.
It is amazing to me how marxist systems typically lead to starvation in lands of plenty. But hey we'll get it right next time right guys?
Many have already abandoned critical thinking. They're ahead of the curve.
This could prompt compassionate liberals to destroy their own money, and help offset the insane printing of last year.
The only thing Mitch has going for him is that he's not a dem. That's it.
Che was also a rapist and a murderer. Lefties at least care about one of those things. Usually, anyway.
This is how you save the USPS :)
Didn't like less than 4% of white people actually own slaves? Not to mention that slavery itself keeps other people poor by virtue of making low skill labor extremely cheap, as we're seeing with exporting jobs to China. Very few white people actually benefitted from slavery outside of the wealthy elites, but lets go ahead and blame the plebs for it.
The more things change...
Let me know when you figure out how to. The one red pill that would totally change everything for my friends is the realization that corporate news lies to them as per profession. Despite them saying how you can't trust corporations, and how corporate influence needs to be limited, and how corporations corrupt everything they touch, corporate news is the one product that every one of my liberal friends will absolutely swear by.
Is your friend a teenager? There was a time in my life when I'd have been surprised too, but it was only after I had started paying attention to politics. I was in high school then and really fucking clueless :\
It's been done to us.
2020 was the first year world poverty increased in two decades, as a result of the quarantine. I can't help but wonder how many more people are dying due to that alone.
Love him or hate him, Jordan Peterson made the point that the right tends to be far more loyal than the left.
This makes for reliable allies, but should you betray them, it will not be a grudge forgotten. Fox stabbed conservatives in the back and killed itself in the process.
Video removed... anywhere else I can see it? Or give a quick rundown?
I watched how lefties did a complete 180 on war between Bush and Obama. I was still politically naïve back then, so when they went from being outraged over war to completely ignoring it, it was unbelievable to me.
Now I know that they don't really care about most the things they complain about. Everything is a means to an end. It's all by any means necessary.
Sorry man. For me it's my friends- my oldest friends. They're so propagandized by corporate news that their understanding of reality is thoroughly warped. They aren't idiots, either. They've just been suckling from the tit of misinformation for years and have nothing to compare it to.
One friend in particular is baffling; after being tricked by Russiagate his response to resist being fooled again is choosing to be skeptical of election fraud as a concept, not so skeptical of the sources that told him 2016 was fraudulent, and 2020 was the safest election in American history.
Skepticism is the right response of course, but only if it's applied correctly :\
who's mitt ronmy? ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I joined TD back when I found out Reddit was shadowbanning it. And I've hated corporate news as long as I've diversified my sources; it doesn't take long to figure out they're all full of shit.
Congrats! Kill a giant spider for me.
Is there a social media megathread I can reference? I've only seen a few videos myself. Tbh though, the stark statistical impossibilities that swung the election like a thief in the night was all I needed to see it was complete bullshit. People who hate Trump more than anything just don't want to see it. I can't help but wonder if people like that actually deserve democracy.
It's probably been posted here already but could you help a brother out and link the results? I stop by between jobs, can only keep up so much.
election steal*
Most leftists I meet are consequentialists. Not because they explicitly define themselves that way, but you can recognize the patterns over time. It doesn't usually take very long.
Functionally, consequentialism is just 'I can daydream a better world, and can therefore justify doing anything it takes to get there.' Lying, cheating, and stealing are just the tip of the iceberg. Find a moral monster of history, and there's a good chance you found a consequentialist.
I too played Mario Kart!
He's just like me!
