Let not your heart be troubled, fellow pede. It's supposed to get very dark, bleak, and full of despair and hopelessness before it gets better. I'm not one of these people who always think everything will work out just because we're on the correct side. I feel the despair and uncertainty also. It's hard to be human and not have these feelings.
Having said that Matthew 24:6-29 speaks to this exact situation. And then when you throw Revelation on top of it, we know exactly how it all ends.

I am still a person of faith and I know this is part of God's plan, but we are all in the dark right now the same way your boss doesn't tell you every little detail. You're expected to do your duty.
