When I was a First Officer (up until 2015), 95% of my Captains were conservative in the LAX base (probably a little higher in other bases, lol). Now that I'm in the left seat, I'd guess about 70% of my copilots are, maybe 50% of the females. Feelings are very important to some of these 30-somethings.
Translation: "Dear fans, how dare you use the occasion of a football game to make a political statement! What's wrong with you?"
I got called three times and politely declined to participate, saying I was a little too busy. Every liberal I know can't wait to make their opinion known to anyone who will listen, I think that's the difference.
